gparker777 Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Are these available in oz at all? Looked interesting and given the price worth a try to replace my old "garage" no name speakers...
gavtron Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I read on John Darko's 6moons writeup of the Melbourne AV show that these were now available in Aus thru the Pioneer website, but I can't find a link to purchase them. If anyone knows of where to get them in Melbourne or online, please let me know Thanks, gav.
Guest JohnA Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 are we talking these ones?? http://www.fishpond.com.au/Electronics/Pioneer-SP-BS22-LR-102cm-Bookshelf-Speakers-Black-Pair/0012562906119
gavtron Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 That's them! JD's blog said they had a local price of around $200 - fishpond say their stock is shipped from US suppliers. Would rather buy from a local and cheaper supplier if possible.. Thanks, John
Guest JohnA Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 they are on Pioneer Aus website, maybe shoot them of an email to see who stocks them locally?
automated Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I've ordered a pair from my local Begents (Pioneer recommended them) that should arrive soon, I was quoted $179. Looking forward to using them as computer speakers with a modded (pre-amp removed) dse amp.

henry218 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 additional bracing and put some clay on the driver basket will improve the speakers here's some photos for the passive xo, pretty impressive for under $100 speakers in USA. 2
New Sensations Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 ....typical: now I can't find the link I used to buy them on the pioneer au site. Grrrr. It makes me wonder if Pioneer removed them from direct sale this very week?
kdoot Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Seriously considering getting a pair of these for my 9yo son for Christmas. Would need a tiny - and cheap! - amp to go with them. Presumably a class D. Any suggestions?

Newman Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 http://www.pioneer.com.au/au/products/42/99/161/SP-BS22LR/page.html http://www.pioneer.com.au/au/products/42/99/161/SP-FS52/page.html These links appear to suggest they are only listed as part of the 5.1 package, FS52PACK. And attempting to find a supplier using the 'Shop Now' links is completely useless: they just get you every shop that handles pioneer in the whole country, very few if any of which would retail the FS52PACK.
vinilink Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Saw this pair of speakers in BKK Siam Paragon shopping mall on level 4 or 5 directly above department store selling at 5000 baht >A$200 last August. I will pick this pair when I go to BKK again next year to use it for my desktop. 1

New Sensations Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Maybe I scored the last pair at Pioneer HQ? (I'll be moving them on before Christmas, once I've written about them).
gavtron Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Maybe I scored the last pair at Pioneer HQ? (I'll be moving them on before Christmas, once I've written about them). Nice work. I'm looking for a tiny pair of speakers for my tiny bedroom. The other candidate so far are the VAF i90's which were sounding very good at the AV show.
SteveC Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Has anybody seen these advertised or in a store anywhere? 1
vinilink Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Contact Pioneer, they naybe able to get you one since they had a refurbished pair selling at $181. http://shop.pioneer.com.au/category/catalog/home-entertainment/speakers
jolon Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I saw these at Harvey Norman before Christmas as part of a 5.1 set. I didn't hear them or ask whether they could be purchased separately.
gparker777 Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 I am still drawing a blank on obtaining these in Australia... Pioneer were no help and they are not selling these online. I called a few retailers and they had no idea. anyone else found a local supplier?
unclemack Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I got a pair of the floorstanders for a mate through work. Bloody Brilliant budget speaker. Contact your nearest Jb HiFi, they should be able to do a special order from Pioneer. Cheers M
gparker777 Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) Finally sorted and have a pair arriving this week for my garage system. From Pioneer: " We are currently experiencing an error with the SPB-S22LR speakers appearing on our Website for purchase. We would recommend that you call our Sales desk on 1800 060 852 to place your order" Edited February 3, 2014 by gparker777
