kissie Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I thought initially it would just be a simple matter of adding the additional plinth and the solid metal sub-platter. However I then thought that by adding the sub-platter it would increase the overall thickness meaning that the existing spindle would also need upgrading to accommodate the extra thickness which then may also impact on the motor. 1 1

I’m guessing that would be a very expensive exercise.

I bought the turntable "package" as a show room demonstrator from the biggest retailer in the biz. The tracking weight read 6gms out of the box..... yikes.... So I hoofed off with said turntable to the then importers. They adjusted the tracking to the correct weight and the VTA adjusted slightly up. The antiskating was left as is (as it had been set at the factory). No mention at the time was made of the tracking weight mech being defective. Since the turntable is still effectively under warranty I won't be penetrating anything with oil, just yet. My German speaking friend has reached out to Clearaudio. cheers good luck with that ha ha
