Hey peeps, just got invited via facebook to my very 1st record fair.

I thought I'd share this with other Melbourners, thought it might interest some of you.

Crate Diggers Record Fair

Date: Saturday 29th June 12:00

Location: Yah Yah's, Fitzroy, Melbourne (Google Map Directions)

Facebook Event Page: https://www.facebook.com/events/617068881645342/?fref=ts

Crate Digger Record Fair is back at Yah Yah's for our mid-winter wax-athon on Saturday 29th June. Doors open at midday and you can enjoy rifling through crate-upon-crate of records from a wide range of stallholders selling personal collections and special treats acquired specifically so that you can take them home to pop on the turntable in your best cardigan by the open fire place (or electric oil heater, whatever tickles your fancy).

As usual, sellers will have vinyl diamonds covering all genres, so there's something for everyone. So whether you're into Nick Cave, The Replacements, Metallica, Wanda Jackson, Clarence Carter or Dusty Springfield, everyone will find some shelf fillers at the record fair.

Entry is Free and the record fair will be held upstairs. Hello Sailor vintage fair will be held downstairs, so get on it!!!!

Thanks for the heads up, X.

Just gotta work out the logistics to get there. Working 2am-10am, drive home through Fitzroy at about 10:30. Should I stop, catch 90min of well earned sleep or just go home and come back later? Hmmmm.

Worked from very early in the morning and didn't get a chance to go home for a sleep or shower. Just wasn't patient enough in there and left. Bought only one new record and reserved another, as only had credit card and not enough cash, but havent heard from seller since. Did you go? Get anything?

There's going to be another record fair in August, I'll give you the heads up when its getting closer. Apparently the ATM over there wasn't working....

Yeah I picked up a few classics

  • Ozzy Osbourne "The Ultimate Sin"
  • Dio "The Last in Line"
  • AC/DC "Highway To Hell"
  • Def Leppard "Pyromania"
  • Bob Marley & The Wailers "Natty Dread"

Then for something more recent I picked up this downtempo record by Thievery Corporation's recent 2011 album "Culture Of Fear"
