It's a great album on vinyl, Keith and I've had my copy from new back in the early '90s I think. I thought I had a second copy of this that I picked up years later, but I can't find it, but that could just be my filing system. I'll keep looking for it and let you know if I find it.

Cheers,

Keith

Is there a thread about good DMM pressings?

there should be...

I'm sure I read a thread about DMM on the Steve Hoffman forums a while back. And agree, the self titled debut from Tracy Chapman is a ripper both in sq and content.

You did (so did I) - but I meant here, so we could talk about Oz pressings that are decent.

For example - 'Tango in the Night', Fleetwood Mac (sorry for thread hijack!)

I used to see dozens of the Aussie lp in used lp stores around Sydney. I would think Melbourne would be similar. From memory the Aussie pressing sounds fine.

I have the local wea aka cbs pressing of Tango. Agree sounds superb and have no desire to look for another copy. Must be all of 110gm vinyl too. ;)   Imagine how good the 180gm vinyl would have sounded :D Edited by turntable

It has been discussed here before. That search button can be a bugger though, trying to find old threads. :P

its a great album much better on vinyl that on CD Its in my high rotation list -- Good luck with the search

Would depend on what CD you're listening to as the original 1988 Elektra pressings (Germany and USA) are ranked up there with the best the format can deliver.

And it was an all digital recording.

This is a very good pressing of this album. It appears only irregularly on ebay though and the price can creep up a bit sometimes. I am a great fan of these quiex type releases on translucent vinyl. They're always really quiet and if the lp was well mastered to begin with then you'll generally find them amongst the best available.

Cheers,

Trevor

These people are very good to deal with.

Worst spammers in the business though. I used to use Esprit all the time and then i began to get bombarded with emails nearly every day suggesting new titles for me to purchase. There was no way to unsubscribe and i vowed a couple of years ago never to use them again after i politely asked them to stop sending the damn things but they continued anyway. I would block one from one address and another one would come through from a different person. Dreadful way of doing business.
