Well I won't be at the actual Tour this year but I've cycled some of the 3 stages in Corsica this year, in fact the Tour starts here in Bastia and Stage 3 finishes in Calvi. We are doing it in reverse, starting in Calvi and riding to Bastia. All I can say is don't miss the first 3 stages, this place has the best scenery that I've seen in Europe and is still remote and unspoilt. What you won't pick up on TV is that the air just smells of herbs, wild lavender and a local herb called marquis grow everywhere and the island is full of eucalypts. There's no natural pests for them here so they have really thick luxuriant canopies.

Not difficult clims in themselves but a really hot day - over 35 degrees, it'll be hotter for the Tour!

Here are a few photos from the route of this year's Tour just to whet everyone's appetite.
