Candyflip Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Clearly, it's a JAMO sub. I picked it up for $20 and thought it might be quality, and useful. I have a Yamaha AV receiver for it to match to. But is seems to act as an amp for another pair of surround speakers, and although it is meant to plug directly into the receiver itself, it's twin wired and my modern receiver seems to be expecting RCA plugs at it's end. I'm a complete newbie to home theatre - is this normal?
Guest Muon Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) It's passive, and the connections for the two speakers are pass-through. Maybe it was intended for 2.1 or part of a 2.1 set. But like I say, I'm guessing. Edit: The most I can find on it is on this AG page http://app.audiogon.com/listings/467867 so it looks intended as a 2.1 system for stereo. Ah, here is a sale with a pic of the sub with It's matching left and right http://www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://img.archiwumallegro.pl/%3F603821009&imgrefurl=http://archiwumallegro.pl/jamo_sw_160-603821009.html&usg=__raxJVmRG3f0NS6OF4gc4Vw3GBSY=&h=96&w=128&sz=3&hl=en&start=10&sig2=YgysQu4ab2ZLVXqM0oAvKA&zoom=1&tbnid=0G8gqOcA8Rvn3M:&tbnh=68&tbnw=91&ei=Zp-8UbWBPIKgigf9xoA4&itbs=1&sa=X&ved=0CD4QrQMwCQ I also found one page saying it uses two 6.5 inch drivers, opposing each other I would guess, if It's the case.
