I need some help with suppliers(if there are any that is) of Decorative Mesh exactly along the lines of this excellent American site>>>Click

In the cabinet that we're building will be two doors about 600mm x 500mm that will when closed have at least four possibly an extra one or two more bit's of kit hiding behind them on a bottom+middle shelf. The doors will be those open and push back in ones.

I want to put a mesh grille into the cabinet doors, not drilled aluminium with holes or punched I want a mesh look if I can get it, a reasonably wide mesh would be great so that you could still see the glow of LED's ect(no tubes...they go on display if I ever get any :) ) and possibly a remote might work through it but it doesn't matter if it doesn't.

I like the look of mesh inserted into cabinetry in lieu of panelling.

Any ideas and links would be mucho appreciated...gotta make a decision real soon, like next week at the latest.

Hi Nada, simple answer is no,but thanks for going to the trouble to locate and up that pic I appreciate the time.

I'm after a metal mesh, the damned Yanks are drowning in companies that do it but not so here.

This is almost exactly what I'm after as far as look goes, could be black, could be brass looking >>> Mesh inserts it's the " Wire door insert " picture .

Damn my crappy memory, I was looking at stuff like this in a metal suppliers in Lismore 2 years ago.

If I remember who, I'll be back...

Edit: You could see one of those screen door mobs and purchase just the mesh, maybe.

Data, I'm in Lismore...put that thinking cap back on: Sidney+Hacking, MetalCorp, Phillip Matthews...any of those ring a bell?

I know you are, that's why It's bugging me that I can't remember.

They don't ring a bell, but that doesn't mean much...

I'll shoot an email to a mate of mine that was using them a bit, and see if he remembers.

Thanks Tele+LP , I've had a look at those sites already actually but I've just had a brainwave(doesn't happen to often).

Our front screen door has that 'Crimsafe' wire mesh in it, pretty dear stuff but it's powder-coated by the look of it and I don't need a lot of it, probably a piece1m x600mm and then I could cut it to suit the doors being made...hmm.

It'd do the job I think aesthetically and also functionally in that I need to be able to let heat out of the cabinet, could work...

I had some covers made for my valve amps.

When I went to the sheetmetal guy we looked at the mesh with the drilled holes and other stuff. He had some crimsafe lying around and we decided to use that. It is stainless steel and the pieces were black, exactly the colour I wanted.

Amplimesh is a similar product and can be had in different colours.

Security door  people sell both. Bob Burns for blinds also has some products.

Hi Luc,

I have used a similar material in cabinets I made for a customer of mine. The supplier was the Locker Group in Dandenong,  Melbourne. They have all sorts of mesh and expanded metal. They might have an outlet up your way.

 Cheers, Larry.

Well Luc, Exciting times getting your Audio Nivrana into fruition-blimey I remember the times when i was  a young bright eyed bushy tailed Stereo Nut like you getting my first "room" setup

Good one I'm sure it will be a great sense of success and enjoyment.

Noting your penchant for Metal mesh-be careful to make sure it is as inert as you can make-- if it rings like a bell when you ping it-it will sing along with your music--not good.

Carry on Boyo!
