Mr 57 Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Hi Guys, wanting to buy some new vinyl, have just placed an order with Quality Records in Melb. Any other suggested stores? Online is preferable. Thanks in advance Jeff
Guest JohnA Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 (edited) 2 sponsors right here on this site mate http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php?/forum/82-groove-gallery-records/ his ebay store is http://stores.ebay.com.au/Groove-Gallery-Records?clk_rvr_id=486387197883 http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php?/forum/74-vinyl-eye-records/ online store http://www.vinyleye.com.au/ Edited June 2, 2013 by JohnA
Keith Anderson Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 I've bought a number of records from vinyl eye and highly recommend, they will try to source vinyl so send a email even if it's not listed on the site.
captainclive Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 (edited) Popmarket good prices plus free delivery. Their packaging is a bit below par. Howevr, they will replace any damaged records. It took once me 3 attempts and now have 2x4 Blue Note jazz albums that we're warped, I suspect bent in transit. +1 for Vinyl Eye. Edited June 2, 2013 by captainclive
bebop Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Another +1 for Vinyl Eye. As mentioned, they are very helpful when sourcing albums.
Get off My lawn Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Would add my vote for vinyleye. Great service, good prices(discount for SENet members), they're happy to get in anything I've wanted that wasnt in stock or listed on their site. I've pretty much given up on buying anything online from overseas as a result.
Mr 57 Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 Thank you gentleman, your guidance has been appreciated. Just as bye, I received a pm from Keith @ Vinyleye welcoming me to his store and offering his assistance. Wow, service like that is truly hard to find these days, fantastic. So from that, it sure is enough to sway me Thanks again Jeff
Under Hifi Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 I know you said online is perferable but this is truly a fantastic resource: http://digginmelbourne.wordpress.com/store-guide/
Xonnie316 Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 I found this website a few weeks ago in which I found the prices quite reasonable: www.VinylDestination.com.au
Dubhousing Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Polyester in Melbourne. They post quickly and have a great selection. I also use JB when I have no choice but sometimes I've waited months only to find the order couldn't be filled. Quality Records are the best physical store IMO. Amazing used classical collection and not a scratch to be found.
unclemack Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 I get my metal from http://www.vongrimmrecords.com/ Cool guy out of Sydney. Great service and deserving of support. Avant Garde stuff from http://www.denovali.com/shop/ Other indy releases directly from the band or the label. Cheers M

Cheers M
Keith Anderson Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Quality records is great, picked up 9 albums today, averaged out to $5 each and they are great. Some hardly make a noise anywhere a couple have a little noise but nowhere near a problem, best $45 I spent on second hand vinyl, well worth the drive to them, beats eBay, but the new vinyl is a little expensive compared to Vinyl Eye
shaky Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 I know you said online is perferable but this is truly a fantastic resource: http://digginmelbourne.wordpress.com/store-guide/'>http://digginmelbourne.wordpress.com/store-guide/ Agreed. Got a brochure hard copy of this recently.
Candyflip Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Quality Records are the best physical store IMO. Amazing used classical collection and not a scratch to be found. How the HELL did I miss these guys for the last 30 years!?!? thanks
illusion Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Quality records has been high on my 'goto' list for a number of years. Today for the first I stepped into Heartland Records in West Melbourne, it was like finding Aladdins Cave, wonderful store stocked with some real 180gram gems. I'l be returning soon.
