I have arrived.

A lovely afternoon with old friends, slightly more wine than is strictly healthy. Kids are in bed and I head to the stereo room. On goes Heat Miser, from Protection.

The missus says... "It sounds like your CPAP machine".

The new middle age In my considered opinion, starts anywhere from 25 to 65 depending on physical condition and mental flexibility. Lifestyle choices are powerful and even influence gene expression. I have seen a 65 year old women who in function was physically younger then a 25 year old.

Quit the drugs including alcohol and caffeine, eat well and let your body slim down to your weight at 18,  take up yoga and aerobic exercise and feel your age reversing.

Its a nice idea anyway.

To aid this please sign up for my special audiophool age reversal plan that includes a pedal powered pure 240V generator to ensure you work out listening to music. The jump in sound quality over mains power is astonishing and you will gain excellent cardiovascular fitness.  To aid diet moderation we have the limited eating plan that uses CD's as plates for portion control. All this for only $199.99 per week. PM me now.

Make all the days count, Alistair, and enjoy the relationships with family and friends.

You are coming to an age where that becomes increasingly obvious.

Happy birthday.

Speaking of age, my missus and I were out for our Sunday morning 5Km walk today and came across this dear little old lady who was riding her treadley. She was 84 and rode that sucker like she was 18!!!!!!!

How awesome is that?

Happy Birthday A , the only time you really live life fully is from 30 to 60 , the young are slaves to dreams and don't appreciate the little things - like being spanked at school by a middle aged woman , stuff you pay good money for in later life.

The old are servants of regrets.

Go crazy.

I turn 49 today,

On my 49th, I just cant help thinking about this beautiful angel I saw at my daughters friend 18th bithday a week ago in which our whole family was invited....

She was one devine photogenic, model material creature, and sometimes I remember seeing her going to school when I dropped my daughter of to school!

Bloody hell, wish i was 18 again....

Then, reality kicks in; You naughty boy, stay away from those evil thoughts, thats enough, hang on theres a sign there; its says "DO NOT GO THERE, or YOU GO TO JAIL"

Fancy that, to have that running in your head when you turn 49!

Hey - happy birthday mate! Went the CPAP route about 18 months ago and couldn't stand it so now I just take my chances.

Best of all, you now qualify for Australian Pensioners Insurance. Silver linings.

I was riding up Col de Porte in the French Pyrenees a few years ago and got passed near the top by an 84 year old and his wife! Luckily I was towing a 25kg trailer up the road so I could save face. I rode like it weighed 50kgs until they were out of sight. Age and fitness are what you make of them.
