DoggieHowser Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I had never experienced this issue in the past when I ran my music server on a separate HDD connected to the Mac Mini. But I recently copied the iTunes library to a NAS and decided to use my MBP to point to the NAS instead. This worked fine until I was out of town for a few weeks and accidentally ran iTunes (which was the default program for MP3/WAV files etc) and when iTunes loaded, it was looking for a non existent library sitting on a NAS that was thousands of miles away. And that was when I noticed the blank album artwork. When I got back home, even though iTunes could now play those files, the artwork remained missing. Googling I found that someone has got a fix. It's called Re-embed Artwork script. http://dougscripts.com/itunes/2011/07/new-re-embed-artwork/ Worked for me. For the most part. But I noticed I had to select a limited number of albums each time. Didn't work for the entire library. Also there were a few cases where the first track didn't have the album art and this would trip the script. For those albums, I just had to find the track which did have the artwork, copied the pic, then selected all the tracks in the album, "Get Info", then pasted the artwork in the right field. Hope this helps.
Keith Anderson Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 (edited) This is one of the things I absolutely hate with iTunes, the way they handle artwork, why they don't do like everyone else and just drop a jpeg file into the same folder as the album music is beyond me. I use iTunes more because of my iPad, iPod and two iPhones. Edited May 22, 2013 by keitha
kesa32 Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Hmmmm , iTunes wiped all my library on the PC and iPhone ( bar the stuff purchased from them ) when I upgraded my iPhone fw yesterday ( from original fw ) I think iTunes needs to get with the times as people have too many other alternatives these days , re they're control freak attitude on some of the simpler things such as music
