After purchasing the appalling Pink Floyd vinyl re-issues from popmarket I won't be buying these or any others.

Thanks, Pete. You just made up my wavering mind.

I've got them all but not in 180gm. My 'Love Over Gold' is a nice Japanese pressing. I'll pass.

After my experience with the PF reissues I went and sought specific secondhand German pressings and they are sensational.  The reissue PF LP's were just hideous IMHO.

Presuming these are the recent WB reissues I see no connection between these and the PF reissues, apart from the seller.

Edit: The 180g is irrelevant and I would certainly not buy them because of that nonsense. The WB reissues do, however, sound great.

I purchased the PF reissues based on positive comments here and so I'm not prepared to take another punt on any reissues unless I can hear them first.  The connection for me is "reissues", and that's enough for me. ;)

Fair enough. But we can't all be wrong. :)

You guys are messing with my head!

Do I buy this or not????

Well, you obviously can if you want to. They may be good or bad.

Either you will buy them or you won't.

Does that help?

How would that help?

Look Whatmore, if you buy them then you will know just how good they really are. Unless you don't like them of course, then they won't seem so good. But if you don't get them then you will spare yourself the misery of disappointment in their quality. Unless they are really good then you will feel like you missed out.

Hope I have helped.

I don't even like Dire Straits

Even better. When you get them you won't play them so you won't be disappointed.

If these are the Warner Brothers reissues of a few years ago, I would not hesitate. I have heard the first three and they are sublime.

That has to be the fastest popmarket shipment ever. I ordered these last week and they are arrived at my workplace today 4-5 delivery.

All vinyl looks to be in good nick, but I haven't opened any yet, or played. Will give one a spin tonight

These are the Warner brothers Bernie Grundman remasters. I havent confirmed yet, but they should have been pressed at Pallas in Germany

Just received them!  I did not expect them for at least a month.

Making Movies, Communiiqué, Love Over Gold and Dire Straits were all remastered by Bernie Grundman and pressed at Pallas-Germany.

Brothers in Arms was remastered by Stan Ricker and pressed at RTI.  :)  :)

I won't be listening to any of them until I have washed them with my G.E.M. Dandy record cleaner.

Cheers, Warren

Have only managed to listen to Love over Gold so far (only with the headphones at the moment ).

The Vinyl wasn't 100% flat but very quiet on play, a very silent backdrop for the quiet ramp up at the start of telegraph road.  Great dynamic range over telegraph road.  Overall very sweet sound.

Havent enjoyed Dire Straits that much in years.  Deliberately avoided playing Brothers in Arms initially.  Just because of the FM radio overplayitis of 'So Far Away', and Money for Nothing'

BIA has to be worth the listen for Ride Across The River alone.

That. And the title track also.
