Wasn't sure if this should go in the DIY or here thread.

 

I'm building a new plinth for my Garrard 401 and SME arm

Seano who doesn't post here anymore showed a pic of a bench top he was building and I mentioned that I was looking for similar wood for a plinth.

A few PM's and emails later and he began work on a glued together slab of River RedGum made up of approx 80mm x 40mm lenghts of 500mm long pieces

He gave it a bit of a sand and a square-up and posted it to me and it arrived looking impressive

I then cut a bloody big hole in it  (hardest wood I've ever cut)

Then more cutting for the arm and a access hole for the arm .
