To support ROON

Hi Mates,

Greetings from Kuwait.

I wish to have an advise from Roon users. My streamer Dac is one box, Auralic Vega G1 where I was playing Tidal thru Auralic, till now.

 

Two days back I tried to use tidal via Roon with support of my old Lap which is 

( i3, Ram 4 gb, windows 7 ) but sometimes music will stop for mins.

So I am planning to search for another lap. So please advise me what is the minimum spec of Lap to run ROON flawless .  Your valuable thoughts are highly appreciated.

Hi - I think your laptop is underpowered hardware wise to handle Roon smoothly.

I think as a minimum, you will need 8Gb ram for it run smoothly.

well. Can I use Mac Mini  A1347 (2014 last) instead of my old lap? Just to run Roon Core.

my streamer cum Dac is Auralic Vega g1. 
as Remote control I have iphone

That should run Roon core fine. Just don’t go crazy with upsampling or DSP

If you already have it no harm giving it a try.

I use a series 4 NUC (Laptop chip, 8gb ram no issues at all. 

Using convolution on 8 channels.
