Not a great view of the tubes, but here's an internal shot of my Modwright LS100 preamp:

There's a Sovtek GZ34 rectifier and 2x TungSol 6SN7 drivers.

Takatsuki TA-300B from my new best friend Ms. Keiko Otani at Amtrans Corporation, which do sound lovely straight out of the box, although I've not yet tried anything very bass heavy through them yet, and can say for definitely that my hearing pegs out somewhere before 12KHz

Nice pics Mark.....and damn you!!!

They look better than Earle's pics on his site and now there is no question that I'll be upgrading from my recent impulsive( read that as dumb) purchase from His Tootgarook Tubeness Earle A. Bacon.

His new Troubadour 350 but I might be sending it back and getting a Topaz 120

Yep.

I have been very seriously considering pressing the order button for the Topaz 120. I don't have a tube amp since I sold my Prima Luna, which everyone seems to love, but I didn't get along with it.

Very tempting

I've owned an EL34 PP and 300B SET and for me, the Topaz KT120 offers a nice balance without limiting my music choice or volume : )

much difference in price?

The Topaz KT120 does sound a bit like an EL34 on steroids, it really has tremendous pace and doesn't struggle with complex music and big transients.

EDIT - the Troubadour 350 looks like exceptional value. Can Earle even afford to buy Bacon building Amps at that price?

Can only imagine Earle buying Bacon in bulk!

I'm still intrigued by the new 120's, more so now that my fav' EL34 (Winged C's) are no longer in production.

My new(ish) elrog, stunning sounding tubes, not cheap but well worth the money.

my phono stage, no need to ramble on about this one. Those that have not had a chance to listen to one of these , do yourself a favour.

Try RCA 5U4GB to replace stock rectifier tubes. Made a very noticable difference in my system.
