RockandorRoll Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Melody Brand KT88's in my SP9 Have since replaced these with Svetlana tubes 5
evil c Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Looks great - did you notice an improvement with the Svetlana's? I did the same with my Melody last year
Guest Muon Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I need to cover the keyboard with a towel before entering the horn thread, or this tube one
RockandorRoll Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Looks great - did you notice an improvement with the Svetlana's? I did the same with my Melody last year I felt like I lost some bloom in the bass but the top end clear up considerably So overall, less muddy Did you notice an improvement?
evil c Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I'll say - couldn't do a straight A/B comparison though as 3 of 12 original Melody power tubes had gone! But Svetlana have a good reputation as quality tubes compared to the Chinese Melody ones.
Tollbags Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Some more Western Australian goodness. Crappy iphone photo, will get out the proper camera and take some glow in the dark ones. 2
Nickelle Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Some more photos of Earle's work I took a few years ago just after taking delivery. Touchstone with Tempest Monos on Birdseye Maple. (more pics available if anyone is interested) Middle picture looks like a small city before you enlarge it L;OL probably using a small cities power supply . . . .

davidsss Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 I keep accumulating tubes, and just ordered some more. 2 questions: Is there anything out there designed for storing tubes? Mine are sitting in boxes under the turntable. Is there anywhere I can get tubes tested? I have replaced plenty because I was getting some noises but don't know which tubes were causing the noise. DS
