If only I had time to go and start sorting out my super fund!

(the boxes of valves stored under the house)

Where did you say you lived? ^_^

That is a deep spiritual question my friend - and I will have to get back to you on that.

On that, meditate I will...

Aah, some people's minds are just a vacuum... :P

Hmmmm. I don't have any toobs, but would like to try

Is there anything decent under $1500?

well that all depends on what component you would like with tubes

pre amp

power amp

headphone amp

phono stage

cd spinner

earle has a pre amp and an amp under $1500

Cheers for that John.

I am reluctant to hijack this thread but I would be looking at an integrated amp, so if people have pics to show that would be great, along with any opinions of course :)

Edit: I have heard very good things about Earle's Weston Acoustics gear but he's booked out for like 18 months or something yeah??

here is one i noticed on SNA's front page, its more then $1500 ($1800)

http://www.stereo.net.au/products/spotlight/richter-mystique-valve-amplifier

and for the same price ealres topaz 6Ca7

http://www.westonacoustics.com/service2.html

or the bargain troubadour 6l6 for just under $1k

Not sure on how long the wait is for Earle's gear, suppose you can throw him a PM and ask...

everyone is very happy with his gear and i am still waiting to hear one of his pre amps  :)

Ed, is it the sauvignon or the cortese

only reason i ask, is i recall my sauvignon only had the 1 rectifier tube on the power supply and only 4 valves on the pre amp

oh how i miss it  :(

It's tempting to lay them all out on the loungeroom floor for a pic!

Dooo it! Sounds like a cool weekend project. Surrounded by candlelight glow, time lapse photo. I think I'm getting a chubby just thinking about it ;)

It's the Sauvignon but tricked up. Maybe should be called the EK Edition?
