Takatsuki 300Bs latest versions--been dormant for a while-put i'd say the required 200Hrs+ on them now and oh boy!--these are jaw droppingly good

Detail retrieval is staggering--none of the shortcomings of the 300B's at the frequency extremes-

These better most currently available today--I've tried a few--not all -only the revered NOS WE's are the equals my book--but Strato pricing and Hens Teeth :P with the newer Elrogs a fine contender when I heard them last

Good Listening

Very nice. For the price Takatsuki 300B's go for and the sound they offer, I find them better for the cost and 99% of the sound to the sought after and astronomically priced WE 300B's. The 300B's only have a slight edge in imaging IME.

Yes have then lying around somewhere. I used them in a custom Dennis Had 2A3/300B amp that I sold off while back.

My diy effort.

GZ37 rectifier, C3g driver interstage transformer coupled 300b using Silk interstage & Tamradio output transformers.

Output tubes are Genalex but I do fancy a pair of either Takatsuki or Elrogs.

Should have done some dusting before I took the photo  :D

No caps or resistors in the audio path. An input tranni and output tranni only.

UX-171A and 80 rec. tube. Both from about the 1940s. Produces 330mW. Plays OK through 98db efficient Beymas.
