Vladas Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Further information: $150 discount for collection in Melbourne (Frankston) Melody L280 tube preamplifier was flagship model in 2008. End Game preamplifier. Melody was probably one of the most underpriced brands in Hi-Fi Audio history. You will not find this model for sale anywhere because it is ABSOLUTE KEEPER. Melody is an extraordinary value for money. I had 3K AUD Melody tube amplifier which made dust of my Ayon Crossfire, costing 12K AUD. Current flagships cost many times more – you just can't afford them anymore. Specifically, preamplifiers: 64K AUD and 25K AUD. I have compared Melody L280 with a legend Audible Illusions 3A (both with upgraded NOS tubes), costing imported 10K AUD, at my home, and L280 was a winner. Moreover, compared to Audible Illusions, L280 is built like a tank, it is FULLY hand-wired and it has better parts – top USA brands, eg huge size made in USA by Jensen oil caps. I have not seen bigger caps anywhere. Due to that, Melody L280 has an exceptional lifespan - it may serve yours Iifetime. Melody L280 has absolutely unique, stunning looks, reminding UFO flying saucer. Melody brand has many outstanding reviews on Internet. I have seen in French L280 was rated as “the best preamplifier we ever heard at any price”. Recently I have upgraded all tubes: 6SNGT Baldwin Pianos Organs, by Sylvania, NOS Made in USA, paid $350 (4 tubes) Full Music 101D (1) 5C4M=5AR4 NOS Made in USSR (1) Specifications: Vacuum tube: 101D × 1, 6SN7 × 4, 5AR4 × 1 Output: 2V (maximum output 28V) Frequency response: 3Hz-100kHz ± 1dB Input impedance: 250k ohms, input sensitivity: 50-300mV S / N ratio: greater than 90dB, total harmonic distortion: 0.02%, total gain: 20dB Dimensions (W × H × D, mm): 430 × 185 × 380 Weight: 20 kg Power: 230 V Photos: PLEASE READ If you include any reference to pricing whatsoever in this section (excluding RRP), your ad will not be approved If you are advertising multiple items, you must post one bulk price only, or post seperate ads for each item If you don't include photographs of the actual item being sold, your ad will not be approved You understand that a reasonable donation for selling fees is expected upon successful sale of your item - if you have previously sold items and not made a donation, your advertisement may not be approved. 12 2
