blakey72 Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Yeah well we decided to upgrade our cars and my wife liked the Ford Focus 2009 that she had. She wanted a new Focus Active or ST-Line. I said nah, if we're gunna get a new Focus it's gotta be the ST Turbo! So off to Ford and Two weeks later we have a Fury Orange Focus ST (had it 4 weeks). Does she go, Yep.. Manual, 6 speed, 207kW it's a rocket. Sticks to the road like glue too. I did look at the VW Golf GTI/R, Honda Civic Type R, Renault RS and Mini JCW but the Focus just seems to have everything that we wanted. It's kinda a every day car with enough room for a family during the week and drives like a daily in Normal mode too. Then on the weekend (Sunday morning) it's my drive (in sports mode) for about 3 hours. I take it from Horsham to Dunkeld, then up the guts of the Grampians up and down mountains through windy roads (always on the speed limit of course!). They are a fantastic car for the price. If your after a drivers car that gets you really involved like the old school racing/rally cars this is it! Here's some pics: 7
lucmor444 Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Very nice - and lucky you that you can drive it more than 5k's!:)
blakey72 Posted August 19, 2021 Author Posted August 19, 2021 Me, well I bought a dual cab 4wd to tow the ski boat. It's a Ssangyong Musso Ultimate XLV with the Luxury pack. Unbelievable price for what you get. I paid $50k and it feel like a much more expensive car. The heated seats and steering wheel are awesome here in freezing Victoria, too many features to list here. The link to check it out. I'll take some pics soon.

It really sucks, we're expecting to be locked down in the next few days. Keep your chins up 1
blakey72 Posted August 19, 2021 Author Posted August 19, 2021 I have my eyes set possibly on a Toyota Yaris GR in the future
RockandorRoll Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Very keen to look at one of these, but i think i might wait until the ST3, so I can get the adaptive headlights like my Escape. I do like the daily driver aspect of it, some hot hatches are getting a bit too hardcore 1
betty boop Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 @Sierra and @Black Orange are fellow admirers these things are pretty hard to beat in so many aspects great enjoying every day too.... and also getting a chance to let it stretch it legs as well
agelessgoodguy Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 How do they compare price performance wise against our BMWM140i's?

Only come in auto and wanted manual. Similar price/bit dearer for 2018 model. 43 more kW so faster in a straight line. No idea around a track or windy road. This hangs on well though. I'm also getting a tune which will add 50hp so 330hp up from 280.
Addicted to music Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 The feeling when you get a new car 1
blakey72 Posted November 3, 2021 Author Posted November 3, 2021 More pics after me spending a day detailing... 3
Addicted to music Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 I drove the standard focus as a loan vehicle and was very impressed with it, thought what a pocket rocket! And you’ve got the turbo version! I’d get to a point and returned the key…. Don’t trust myself; temptations! But imagine the fun around the Grampians……

But imagine the fun around the Grampians…… OMG that's exactly what I do every Sunday morning, take it up to the Grampians! It's an amazing drive, the handling is eye boggling and no problem getting up them hills with 207kW (280hp, 420Nm) under the hood Don't trust yourself haha, yeah easy machine to lose your licence in, you have to be aware of your speed as it gets away from you very quickly. The damn thing gets to 100km/h in second gear without a sweat, 250km/h top speed (limited). Edited November 3, 2021 by blakey72
