KRSDarwin Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 The Territory is a lucky place at the moment with very few COVID restrictions. This allowed us to have a GTG to listen to newly acquired Paradigm Persona 7Fs. Attendees were a good mix of SNA members ( @ZOOTYtooty, @Satanica, @Shhh and @Vinhotep) and enthusiasts not on SNA, some people new to Darwin and some long term residents. A diversity of hi-fi backgrounds and music interests made for an enjoyable afternoon. It was especially good to get the impressions of those that had heard the system with the former Studio 100s v the Persona 7Fs. We used a combination of sources including streaming (PS Audio DirectSteam DAC with Bridge II), CD (using Oppo 105 as a transport) and turntable (Clearaudio Concept). Plenty of variety in the music played. Everyone seems keen to have further GTGs and connect with other SNA members and Hi-Fi enthusiasts. The biggest challenge is the domestic settings where numbers are necessarily limited each time. 3
Satanica Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 We may be HOT up here, but at least we're not a HOTSPOT ... he he he. I never knew up until now how good the back of my head looks; leagues above the front. Was another great day with a cool bunch and Kevin you're an A grade host. Persona 7F versus Studio 100 is the Persona 7F sound more neutral, powerful, extended, louder with no signs of distortion at high (deafening) levels. The kind of speaker that I hope Kevin is careful with, for hearing loss. I was quite suprised how such litttle bass cone movement from those 8 inch bass drivers could create so much bass. The overall improvement was more than I expected. Cheers all! 1

Vinhotep Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Was fantastic to meet you all and wow what a thrilling setup. I’ve been thinking about the experience all night. The soundstage, slam and detail you manage to get is genuine stunning. Even more impressive is that none of your windows rattled at those levels! 2
ZOOTYtooty Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 @garfield1 there is hope! HiFi enthusiasts in Darwin!! 1
Bass13 Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 How good is that, that's so priceless in today's crazy times, music, great bunch of gents & beer, I wish I was there to enjoy it all too. Unfortunately here in Melbourne we are not so lucky, however we could also be worse. I suppose it goes back to what my father in-law use to say to me, Time will give you reason, & the simplest things in life are the best, like a GTG. 2
Shhh Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 what a great get together, thanks for hosting Kevin. Sound reinvigorated my love of music, been spending a lot more time listening and less time watching since then. also been browsing how to spend my money on upgrades, its going to be fun. 1
