Thanks for the info. Just emailed them to get their recommendation. Was there a particular reason you went for the Purifi which I think is the same as in the nad c298. Is there a specific model that you bought or is it to your specifications. Kind regards, Frank

I always want to try a Class D amp and I heard the designer of Purifi - Bruno Putzeys has a very good reputation, arguably one of the best in this area. And Purifi IET440A is his latest design, you know - latest, everyone likes the latest!

My understanding is all Purifi  based amp are using the IET440A amp module, differences are the input buffer, power supply and case. Just like nad c298 is using nad's own input buffer to support both single end and balance input, gain control etc.., but it's much more expensive.

I chose the Purifi eval1 evaluation kit based model (i.e. Purifi's own input buffer and purifi recommend power supply - SMPS1200A400) because I think this one may reflect the true sound of IET440A.

If your keen on Class D and Purifi IET440A, google @March Audio

There's several options (some amps are using Hypex Ncore class D units too). They are made in WA and Alan March has always been great to deal with.

Hi @fjs  I have a tweaked Bel Canto S300 power amp to sell. 150 watts into 8 ohms, 300 watts into 4 ohms. I used it to replace my Bel Canto M1000 monos while I was having one of them repaired. I was going to keep the S300 as a spare, but its a waste to have such a great little amp sitting in a cupboard. The link to the original listing is below. A very good value intro to Class D with a highly respected brand. PM me if interested

Thanks very much for letting me know. About 3 hours ago I pulled the pin on a March P252 power amplifier. I have 14 days to trial it and if I don’t like it and return it I will be in touch with you. Kind regards, Frank.

Hi, curious if you kept the 252? and what are your impressions...what are you driving it with. Thinking of the same or similar

Thanks Mark

Keen to know as well.  I'm uber pleased with the  P452 running the large Dynaudio's.

I just received it today and letting it run in. My initial impression is one of a narrow soundstage but that could be because it’s new. I will do some further listening over the next week. I’m using it to drive linn isobarik which are very low impedance and known to be hard to drive but there doesn’t seem to be any problems driving them with the amp. I will post another impression when I’ve had a good listen.
