JPete9 Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 I have measured and treated my room, but i am going to renovate it a a little. I have proven the treatment and measurement using my DIY panels, but i want a pro made look now. I currently have 50mm absorption on the front and read and side and ceiling. What are the best bass traps i can buy in Melbourne? So far seems like Prime Acoustic via Mannys? and these https://soundacoustics.com.au/product/bass-traps/corner-bass-trap-lf60-bear-series/ Are there any other pro options in Melb? Which are the best of all of these? I kinda like the stack ability of the LF60. What are the best quality and nicest looking (i know this is subjective) absorption panels off the shelf in Melb? I'd like to try a big diffuser on the rear wall. I would like something that also looks awesome and could easily fit 1200x2400 or bigger. Any recommendations for something funky? I would consider custom made or off the shelf. I would try almost diffuser tech. I would consider custom, if some one knows someone who can make pro looking stuff. Otherwise must be off the shelf.
Fangzie Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 (edited) I recently purchased some ArtNovion panels via these guys (interstate but deliver and have always been great to deal with). I'm really liking how they look, and were pretty easy to install as well. There's a pretty big range of options Edited July 29, 2021 by Fangzie

BugPowderDust Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 I've got Artnovion stuff in my room and love it. Very stylist, easy to spec and install. Nicer finish than the vicoustic stuff with more interesting patterns etc. I think they have recently changed distributor so that might explain a lack of stock in some locations that used to sell it.
BugPowderDust Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 I've got the Sahara and Athos in my room. Very cool patterns on the Sahara. I've actually had people ask if we'd commissioned someone to make it for us. https://www.artnovion.com/product-categories/6-absorption/products/1009-sahara-w-absorber-range
JPete9 Posted July 29, 2021 Author Posted July 29, 2021 Any chance of a few pics sometime? Thanks for posting up these options i hadn't seen them. They look great. Any other tips on suppliers? Any other products like this? thanks again.

TerryO Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 (edited) Agreed Artnovian acoustic treatment is very nice gear, more than likely the best finished of all the commercial brands available. When I was looking at starting GC HiFi late last year and before I had opened any accounts with any suppliers I got a quote to treat two of what was going to be my listening rooms with Artnovian panels, the quote came back at over $21k from memory and that was with a reasonable discount. The other thing is it was going to take at least three months for the panels to arrive. Soon after a friend and fellow SNA member did order some Artnovian panels for his room, from memory it took nearly five months for them to arrive I ended up looking around at the different brands and took a punt and purchased Sonitus panels and bass traps, it ended up costing me to treat my two rooms roughly 40% of the price of the Artnovian designed system and the Sonitus panels arrived in three days. I was that impressed with the product and availability that I ended up becoming a dealer for them. Below is a couple of pics of the Sonitus panels and bass traps I choose out of their catalogue. Another option. Easily the best sounding listening room, by far, that I have heard in any HiFi shop in the country is at Sonic Purity in Melbourne. Their room has custom room treatment panels made by a Melbourne acoustical engineer who builds some high quality panels, I also had him make me some custom sized bass traps that look great and work extremely well. Might be an idea to talk to Rom or Warwick at Sonic Purity and see about booking a session to hear how good their listening room is. Cheers, Terry Edited August 1, 2021 by TerryO 6
