tamarasue Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 Hi I'm Looking for owner feedback on either of these two soundbars. Looking at buying one of them but unsure which one. Looking at both movie watching and general listening to music duties. Let me know the pros and cons you've experienced if you own one of these please. Thanks!

The Bluesound is the best Soundbar I have ever heard for music duties, but it wasn't especially great for movies. I haven't heard the ARC, but if it is better than the Playbar, it will probably give you a better balance for mixed usage.
tamarasue Posted July 23, 2021 Author Posted July 23, 2021 Do you have the sub as well - what do you find deficient for movies?
Guest thathifiguy Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 Dialogue was the weakness, even on the narrowest soundfield setting, I just found that dialogue was not great when watching films. Yes, this was paired with a sub.
rockpig Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Going by my experience with the SONOS beam soundbar I would suggest you avoid SONOS for TV. Don't get me wrong I have heaps of other SONOS gear that I really like and use a lot, but the soundbar is not great. I recently swapped out the SONOS BEAM for the Polk Signa S3 and it is a vast improvement on the SONOS. Difficult to understand dialogue was the issue with SONOS. Polk has some great settings to improve dialogue. Even the NIGHT mode is great at taming the huge dynamic range of movies. You know, super loud sound effects and then inaudible voice. 1
tamarasue Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 A quick Follow-up. I ended up going with the Bluesound Soundbar - the latest Plus version. Very happy with the result. Was also planning on getting a Sub as soon as possible but was quite surprised at the bass ability of the soundbar alone. One happy camper! 1
Bunyip Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Hey great to hear you’re happy wi5 your choice. I am tossing the same two options. Just wondering how you feel about the bluesound’s abilities with dialogue - given some of the comments above? Also, does it integrate with your tv remote easily so it turns on turns off, vol etc without you having to do too much fiddling around? thanks.
tamarasue Posted June 13, 2022 Author Posted June 13, 2022 I haven't had any real issues with dialogue. Its a heap better than the TV alone. As long as your TV has HDMI ARC there are no issues at all with on/off, volume etc. The bluesound software is quirky but does the job once you work it out. Glad I got it and not the Sonos - not that I have had a good listen to a Sonos for comparison.
