Cammyboy0_0 Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 Hi I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on an intermittent problem I have with my Unison Research CDE valve CD player. The player will work fine for weeks or months and then will suddenly start to distort and cut out, and will then fall silent and not work. Twice I have taken it to repair shops - the first time when they tried it it was working fine again, and continued to do so for three days of testing. I took it home and after three weeks of working normally the same fault recurred. I took it to a more local repair shop and they had the same experience as the first. Again it failed after a month or so. This time I noticed that the CDE has an led visible through the top lid that was flickering on an off with the the intermittent loss of sound / distortion as it failed( it remains on when the player was working normally). I took back and after a couple of months they have to admit defeat as they are unable to diagnose the fault. I really like the CD player and would hate to have to give up on it. Does anyone have any ideas - is this a laser failure thing? cheers Cameron
