Hi guys,

I'm planning to get a custom built 2-way bookshelf utilizing the Purifi 6.5" which incorporates two passive radiators. Also I'm planning either to use the Hypex or MiniDSP Plate Amps instead of passive crossover because I've heard it's hard to match the Purifi woofers to other drivers.

I was recommended @synthesis1624705793 as a builder and was wondering if anyone has his contact (I can't get a hold of him as it says he can't receive messages)

I was inspired by the following designs but intend to just use a rectangular cabinet:

Was March Audio coming out with a Purifi woofer based 2 way?  Maybe check that out as an option.

Ah yes I've been following Alan's progress on the March Audio Sointuva since last year. I was hoping he'd make an active speaker utilizing the 1ET400A Purifi amplifiers but he ended up making the passive bookshelf speakers first. Also after looking at the designs of the Taipuu and Surveyor, I'm also looking to put the two passive radiators on the sides rather than on the back which frees up the back of the box for a plate amplifier.

Been looking into the Purifi drivers with the CV19  I believe it has put the disigning and building of Purifi tweeter on the back burner as someone has commented that it is difficult to find a suitable tweeter to pair up with there 6,5 inch woofer. On paper they have good results and what i have seen on YT and read comments they sound good would like to listen to a pair in real life to me it seems a lot of drivers in such a small book shelf size cabinet including two passive radiators being into vocals and Jazz music I wonder how they stack up they seem a bit Boomy in the base region I have read they have tried two types of tweeter one being a beryillium and the Beryillium did not sound as good   Tad speakers are my end game dream speaker .but these do look very promising  ..

Have you heard many speakers with passive radiators? I know many thatdon't like the sound a lot of the time (have only ever heard cheap ones personally so no comments from me).

Two drivers especially on the sides  (even on the back) could create some very interesting dispersion (power response).

The speakers you have posted photos of look like they have the Sb acoustics sb26adc and then the second a member of the bliesma 34 series.

The frequency where the passive radiators operate is so low, that the response is omni directional no matter where on the box they are placed.

One very interesting 6.5” driver.   It has  me intrigue on the the design and the way it overcome edge resonance…. Sensitivity at 88db/2.8v/m  and very low distortion.   The construction is also interesting from the close up pictures.   Note the inconsistent coil winding, the paper triangle at the bottom of the cone edge that’s glued to counter edge resonance.   Wondering if they all come of the production line with this type of coil winding or they’re all different?   And if they are all the same, why?
