PKay
Hi, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have an old Antipodes DS Reference that has a 32 bit motherboard which I upgraded to run on Snakeoil (a great improvement). The 32 bit version has come to the end of life with Linux updates requiring a 64 bit motherboard. The DS Ref has an excellent linear PSU and a SOtA sound card which was upgraded for me by Clay @Gieseler Audio so ideally I want to keep as much as possible. When I upgraded to Snakeoil I bought a 1TB Samsung SSD. I am a very low level computer person but somehow with some help from @Snoopy8and the Snakeoil forum got everything converted across. The dimensions of the case are 240mm x 250mm. Edited July 10, 2021 by PKay
Snoopy8
I suspect it will be easier to build a new server/player with salvaged parts (power supply, USB card, SSD) than find a like for like motherboard replacement. With a new motherboard, the mount points will be different and your back plane will need to be changed. Suggest bribing a local DIYer with a few bottles of red to do this for you! (After your lockdown of course, which I am sorry is happening to all in Sydney )
mloutfie
The USB card is using PCI nothing with 64 bit and in mini ITX will be still using PCI the rest might be salvageably but you need to know what's the power rating of the power supply to make sure it will support the new motherboard. motherboard itself looks like a normal mini itx. I would say just stick with 32 bit os.

I like the compactness of the case and was hoping to somehow just change the motherboard.
