atya Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 (edited) Further information: Up for sale is a Cayin HA-6A headphone amp purchased April this year from local Australia authorized dealer. It's a powerful and flexible headphone amplifier that outputs close to 5 watts at max setting so plenty of power for most headphones. You can see some great reviews below. I currently use this with Meze Empyrean and Susvara, and with the Empyrean the pairing is absolutely amazing, with no humm / hiss issues despite being such a powerful amp. With the Susvara being such a power hungry beast, the pairing is great to my ears and surpass solid state amp that I have with same power rating. I'm just keen to explore other pairings so letting this amp go to someone hopefully with less power hungry headphones. From what I heard, the synergy with HEKSE, Empyrean (my own experience), Utopia etc. this amplifier will make them sing! The amp allows for EL34 tubes for more warmth (suits vocals etc), and KT88 for more punchy bass / dynamics if you prefer that for rock / EDM etc. On top of that, with just a single click of button you can choose Triode or Ultralinear mode which again changes the profile further. So many possibilities in one amp. The amp comes with brand new unused stock tubes (Electro Harmonix EL34, Golden Lion KT88, Electro Harmonix 12au7), as I purchased upgrade tubes straight away for the amp. Happy to discuss and include the upgraded tubes (EL34 / KT88) as additional costs. Last thing, I did a rookie mistake and dispose of the box that came with the amp from trying to save space (what a mistake), so preferably would like to sell locally here in Melbourne, VIC. As shipping this 20kg+ beast will be a pain. Bill_F Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 I don't have this particular unit, but I can say from my experience with other Cayin amps that I LOVE the ability to switch between triode and ultralinear on the fly. Two very different sounds at the flick of a switch. Almost like two amps in one. Best wishes for the sale! 1
triocorp Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 If only this popped up before I bought the Focal Arche.
Mason Safari Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 I have HA-300 and really like it...I preferred it over Auris Nirvana ( my personal preference) ... I think they can priced double and still would be a good value for money... GLWS 1
