Anthony1
Q. Does it bassy enough when you stand next to the speakers. if so, the your sitting in a null, so move speaker or chair to find a bass positive position. As a quick fix perhaps is to consider an amplifier with a little bit of tone control to switch in as required if listening to a bright recording. Would figure 160W/ch+ would be a reasonable size amp size to manage the 701 amplifier load. Otherwise short term is closer to rear wall & speakers off axis a bit (not aimed close to ears). And if you can or have, some damping material on wall at first reflection point.

How long are your spkr cables? My speaker cables are 3m. The ones i've got in the collection at the moment are QED xt25 , QED XT40i , audioquest type 4, Lenehan Audio, Einstein , Triode Wire. I predominately use the Triode wire. Currently I'm trying the Einstein which are also very nice. The QED XT40i are the next ones down on the list, then the 25s which are just a bit less of the xt40i. Classic case of a thicker cable offering a lot more of the sound through. The XT25i is a very nice, slightly laid back cable. Would be good for a bright system. This may sound bright. https://www.stereophile.com/content/bowers-wilkins-802-d3-diamond-loudspeaker-measurements Also, not sure if this is relevant but the B&Ws drop to 3ohms. I believe the Michis are not recommended for speakers below 4 ohms The Michi M8's will drive speakers down to 1 ohm comfortably. Don't worry about the overly conservative booklet, in testing they do it easy.

Hard to find measurements (Stereophile didn't measure 2 ohms 'cos it tripped the circuit breaker) Hifi News measured "dynamic power" as: 8 ohm: 1.64kW 4 Ohm: 3.13kW 2 Ohm: 1.79kW 1 Ohm 960W https://www.hifinews.com/content/rotel-michi-m8-mono-power-ampiifier-lab-report I'm not really sure how to interpret dynamic power but in theory you want to see power doubling as impedance halves. The Michi does the opposite below 4 ohms It's still a vast amount of power so I don't know if it matters in reality
