Colonel Sanders Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 Further information: In the early 2000 when single drivers and low power SET amps saw a revival, these back loaded horns were considered to be the best available. I bought these directly from RL Acoustique in 2001 as my reference speakers to design my tube amplifiers when I was running Pantheon Audio. These back loaded horns are excellent and if you can give them about 1.5m space from the back wall, they throw an incredible depth in the soundstage. As you can see from my setup, listening to these in near field is a bliss (hard to believe but trust me on that one). The AER mk1 drivers surrounds have been replaced recently so you should be good for another 20 years of playing time before the next replacement will be required. Here is a link to a review by 6 Moons: https://6moons.com/audioreviews/lamhorn/18.html These are incredibly versatile. If you want deep bass, match these with a pair of REL T7i or T9i and crank up some old Yello, Rage Against the Machine, ACDC and you’ll get a smile on your face. I’ve been using these mostly with a pair of PP 2A3 monoblocks or a pair of 300b monoblocks and more recently, a Pass Labs INT-25. Due to the weight and size of these speakers (145lbs each), I definitely prefer a local sale. Shipping these would be rather expensive. If shipping is required, it will go via Pack and Send with the drivers sent separately.
