Featured Replies

Further information:

The Questyle Audio CMA800R 'Golden Series' takes all the great technology found in the standard version but adds Roberts ceramic PCBs, for ultra-low signal loss and extremely stable transmission, and select components on the current mode amplification circuit. These additions combine to offer an exhilarating performance in sound quality and technical specification. The transparency of signal processing is improved significantly.

Available as a Reference System including CAS192D DAC and CMA800R Amp - PM for Pricing.

Hi Edmund,

How does this work with the rest of the stack and headphones ?

Assume the headphones plug into the 800R and this is not used in that scenario ?

And do they all have a seperate remote ?

cheers,

Questyle - wonderful product.

I'd imagine DAC XLR to Preamp. Preamp XLR to Headamp and RCA out to speakers power amp.

So for just a pure headphone setup, the preamp built into the Headamp would be sufficient.

Such a nice stack. I have a CMA Twelve and it's wonderfully built.

Hi guys

Of course Bengineer is spot on as always.

These are truly works of art and i am reluctantly giving them up after spending a lot of time and hard earned money putting it together.

Interesting, makes this one sound redundant in the context of a headphone stack, would make more sense as a normal preamp, headfi aside, which I’m sure it does beautifully.

Do they have remote control ?

GLWTS.

This pre was used to provide volume control when you ran 2x CMA-800R for the dual mono experience, rather than twiddling 2 separate volume controls.

Now that makes sense, as Edmund indicated, it was also designed to be the preamp for the full stax 009 system, have just been reading up on it after Edmund’s post. Interesting stuff.

Have seen a few photos of systems running the amps in mono. Serious high end.
