snowinokinawa Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 (edited) Further information: I’m basically giving away a Richter Thor Mk4 Subwoofer in good condition. I was informed by the individual who I got it from that it had an issue. I used the RCA cables he provided and heard a low end buzz constantly emanating from the woofer. However using my own RCA cable the subwoofer performed well without any buzz. It performed perfectly for about 1 month of use when suddenly a noticeable crackle, maybe the sound of a loose connection came in a few times during the film I was watching. Then no crackle again for a few weeks. The driver/woofer is in perfect condition. The box aside from a little peeling edge looks great. I’m sure the crackle could be fixed by an experienced solderer or of course very easily by exchanging the amp for a new SPA250 amplifier. Thor MK4 Manual & Specs: https://www.richter.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Thor-MK4-IB.pdf I was only allowed to input numbers into the price, however asking price for this unit is either 1x Chocolate Malt Thickshake from Dominos or 1x Macaroni Animal Artwork or Payment of $10 (see images below) Pick up from Avondale Heights, VIC. Mickstuh Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 One issue with theses subs is the glue running on the insides. Causes a crackle. Easy fix for someone who knows. Thor will refer you to a serviceman
lebowski Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 even if the Amp module need replacing which is a known issue this is still a good buy. Would you accept a drawing of a spider? 1 2
snowinokinawa Posted July 4, 2021 Author Posted July 4, 2021 Thanks for the input from all the classy members here. Handsome DamianW is first in line to come collect the sub on Tuesday evening with a custom-made-surprise-artwork from his son along with some advice regarding my enquiry for home-visiting HT/Audyssey calibrators in VIC. Second in line is exquisitely talented Lebowski with his über terrifying yet equally friendly drawing of a spider. Third in line is GRP with a succulent $10 cash note. ‘I’ll update everyone accordingly... and thanks for playing. 2 1
virtua Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 I gotta say those dominos thickshakes are pretty damn good 1
Gazer01 Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 This is a sort of a lottery win for someone who can snatch this. Good job on paying it forward man. 1
snowinokinawa Posted July 5, 2021 Author Posted July 5, 2021 Thank you Gazer I appreciate you saying that. My karmic returns in the universe have been a little lacking lately. I thought it was a one off when I purchased a Monitor Audio Apex 40 brand spanking new from the States to have it stolen mid-shipment by FedEx. Not lost, but stolen as clearly evidenced by the tracking information. I thought that was it but then my order for a headphone amp goes missing followed by an order of cable sleeving going missing too... different addresses... FedEx and UPS this time. So yeah I’ve decided to try buy back some karma/good luck by paying it forward for my next few transactions. Hopefully the universe recognises it. 1
