SimonE Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 Hi to you all. I’m interested in knowing whether anybody still uses audio cassettes and whether you can still buy them. I have a Nakamichi 582 which still works but was wondering if anybody still repairs them. As it’s so old I’m sure the rollers and bits should be looked at. I only have very few cassettes and was also wondering if you can still buy them. The young ones are fascinated by cassettes and can’t believe the sound of them.
audiodyna Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 In fact there are still many cassettes user out there, especially overseas. I was told repair is not a big issue. On and off there are people selling brand new blank tapes in Stereonet. 1
muon* Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 Keep an eye out in the op shops, often retail titles to be had, and occasionally new blanks, I picked up a ten pack of new in wrapper EMTEC FE1 blanks a few weeks ago. 1
LogicprObe Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 Often a clean and lube will do and then see how it goes. 1
