titactoh Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 My DELL Inspirion AIO 20 touchscreen encounter problem 5 to 7 time in a day. A blue screen wil show informing ...my device has encountered problem and the need to collect info will will restart soon. Most it recovered but to day it goes into Automatic repair and also diagnosis. and screen shot below for reference. Power off and restarting sometime helped but not now. What is wrong and should I call Dell or Microsift for assissstance. It is using Windows 8 and was acquired in 2015. It is a very good PC which dropped twice to the floor from my standard height desk but screen intact. The colour is excellant. I am now using my Lenovo to seek help. Hope someone can advice how to contact Dell or microsoft. I would like to buy hard copy of Windows 10 ( In case PC break down I can upload to the new PC ) but this Dell has no DRIVE.
titactoh Posted May 30, 2021 Author Posted May 30, 2021 Not able to post pics of screen. Briefly it say ...your device encountered some problem and we need to collect info and restart for you... Sometimes it goes into AUTO REPAIR but most times did not succeed. A screen showe choosse option 1-exit & continue to Windows 10 2-Use a USB Device , network connection or Windows recovery DVD 3-Turn off you PC I chose no. 3 as I do not know how to proceed for 1 & 2.
titactoh Posted May 30, 2021 Author Posted May 30, 2021 The 4th pic is the firt to appear and usually it succeeded in restoring but no today. I have the option to REINSTALL but I do not know if Windows 8 was intstalled by Dell or by Reseller as this Dell PC came with my 3 year subscription of Straits Times with SPH. Because of this I am averse to REINSTALLING! If I am correct Windows 8 is a operating system. For Home Office which is Excel and Word documents I could have loaded myself.
