Vacuum platter demonstration

For this turntable there are 2 components. One is the switchbox that turns the vacuum on and off, and with a dial to adjust pressure. It's located near the turntable and is dead silent. The other box is tethered with a 10m long hose meaning you'd usually locate it in a ceiling cavity or the next room. I placed it nearby just so you can tell when it was on or off. It would be too loud to situate nearby to your listening seat...

Now that takes me back! I used to have a Luxman TT with a set of mechanical bellows that sucked the LP onto the platter. There was a rubber lip on the outer edge of the platter and the inside to line up with the label. You put the record on and lifted the lever to open the bellows. It really made a difference. It was a nice sounding turntable as well. Cool setup CP

Cheers,

Geoff
