desray Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Hi guys, for those who have know me as the ass-hole Moderator for this forum will no longer have to suffer under my wrath. As of today, I have requested to the "new" admin of XP Forum to step down as the Moderator for this forum wie. For those who are unaware, there has been a change in ownership in this forum. The news comes as a shock to me and I think my service is no longer required and more importantly, the direction and the underlying principles that it stood for when XP forum first started many moons ago may no longer be applicable here. I'm not leaving and will continue to be an ordinary member and see how things develop over time. Deep down, I hope XP will remain the "same" but I know, its probably wishful thinking. But alas, I guess I can finally take a long respite of doing the tedious work of moderation for once and truly enjoy my HT hobby as an ordinary member. :D
Guest Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 I'm sorry to hear that @desray, and also sorry that no one informed you. Yes, the forum has changed hands but we were not ready to make that announcement yet. I intend to respect the heritage of XP, and while there will be some small changes to the look and feel (more features, and more modern technology) we hope to retain the long history and culture of XP. If no one has thanked you previously for your tireless efforts moderating this forum, then on behalf of the new owner allow me to be the first to say thanks. It is a tiresome job with no reward and a lot of effort. XP would not have been allowed to prosper to this point if it weren't for the support and contributions of members and moderators. We will say more when the time is right. Admin
petetherock Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 I couldn't post in the feedback, but it seems like XP has changed hands?
kinger Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 I couldn't post in the feedback, but it seems like XP has changed hands? Hope for the best....not another ExxxLxxx
Guest Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Thanks desray for all your hard work for the forum. Now you can kick back, sip coffee and join us the common folk. And no, you're no ass-hole. Those who think that probably never visited worse forums where the mods rule with an iron fist.
YANG Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Hi guys, for those who have know me as the ass-hole Moderator for this forum will no longer have to suffer under my wrath...... :D ??? ??? ??? Hmmm... it's either i'm old and my sense of smell degrades or really something wrong with my sense... WHERE'S THE SMELL OF SHIAT FROM A-HOLE? So many years here... never smell anything foul ley... Bickering? Sure have in every forum. As ppl's point of view will be one way or another differs from another. U're just trying to tilt the focus back only leh... WHERE'S THE...???
Eric Teh Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Hi Desray, Thank you for your efforts and contributions as mod over the years. Hope you are able to sit back and enjoy the hobby going forward. And no, I think you have been quite fair in carrying out your duties. Definitely less heavy handed compared to some other forums I've been in. BTW, the new owners may want to make a formal announcement and to give more details about the ownership especially if there is a commercial element / affiliation involved. Regards Eric
kopidilo Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 A big thank u to all moderators and owners who have made this forum possible and what it is today. A lot of tireless unseen work, which I truly appreciate. This looks like a major change in the forum, and it is shocking to see there was no announcement. And change of moderators seems also not made known to certain persons, and I hope it was a genuine oversight., and not intentionally. +1 with watchdog that it is needful for the new owners/admin to make an official announcement and if the new owners is a commercial organisation or affiliated to any. :) and the reason behind the change. As a user n content contributor, some areas I would like to know 1) the new moderator team if there are changes. 2) what are the positive changes to expect and the considerations behind them :)
ralfale Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Appreciate all that was done to serve this tiny community of ours. Thank you everyone !

Sonics Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Appreciate to all those that have contributed to the forum so far, I learn a lot! Now keen to hear what is the new admin aim for this forum.
petetherock Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Let's welcome the new team.. Who are our new owners / mods? Thank you Des, Phil, Queks, DB and all those who made it SG's beloved HT / Audio forum!
Chowbotak Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Ok guys, u may be shocked and sick to your stomach but I am taking over XP! And pigs can fly too! ;D But seriously, whoever is taking over, I hope we'll continue to enjoy this forum. And a big thanks to the old team!
ginamos Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Thanks desray. You are accommodating, approachable and helpful through the years. There's an official owner on this forum? Is he also a forum member? I wonder why there's no formal announcement. At least give desray the courtesy of a proper announcement.
Guest Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 I wonder why there's no formal announcement. At least give desray the courtesy of a proper announcement. As previously mentioned above - "Yes, the forum has changed hands but we were not ready to make that announcement yet." It is unfortunate that desray was not told but as the transfer of ownership has not and is still not completely finalised it was not yet time to make such announcement. We (the new owners) do look forward to giving XP a bright and long future, and all will be announced soon when everything is finalised. In the meantime nothing changes. XP is still what it was and will continue to be. We invite all previous moderators to be part of that in the future. At this time, there was nothing to say. But we do wish desray all the best, and again, thank him for his contributions to this community.
desray Posted October 7, 2020 Author Posted October 7, 2020 I agreed with the new admin, let's give the new team some time to adjust. Let's show our XP spirit and give them our fullest support. I'm sure the new team will bring XP to greater heights than ever before based on their industry experience. I shall not say more and let's await the official announcement by the new team... Thank you all for the kind words...those previously banned by us (the old team) can now rejoin the forum and start afresh. Spread the words around...I believe Bro Cash and a few others will be delighted to hear the news. Last but not least, remember our roots...how this forum was created in the first place and I truly hope that the same "kampung spirit" (helping one another) will continue to thrive under the new management team. I'll still be hanging around. [emoji1] Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

Things have changed - format and looks like it is not for the better based on feedback so far. Please bring back the old format where it was more user friendly.

dsj88 Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 What has changed? You need to go to planet feedback to see the comments on what has changed - the format has changed as I mentioned.
