Dear Fellow Diyers,

Where can I buy the black glue for speaker repair?

And for those who have experience do I recycle the coil if the issues is with coil rubbing with the side wall of the speaker?

Are there shops selling the braided wire to the cone?  The one I have gotten looks thick compare to the existing.

Thanks for any help.  Besides Martin and Tai Cheong is there any hidden guru that can do a decent job for a token?

Stay safe!

I bought T7000 black glue from Ebay but it could be available from SL Tower, maybe. But then I also used UHU glue and contact glue for rubber and spider.

If the rubbing is not too bad probably it still works ok.

Few repairs I did were limited to rejoining corroded wire behind the cone (mainly Scanspeak) and couple of surround replacement. I never disassembled voice coil from the cone. I think that will require higher precision to put back.

For the braid try something like a broken apple lightning or mouse usb cable shield just pullout the internal wires and then remove the braided sleeve from the outer sheath and see if that’s flexible enoug

Ok noted.  Now the UHU does smell like the clear glue I had before it turned hard.  Thanks for the pointers.

Ok noted that too.  Sounds like something workable.

Solder wick will work.

Nice one there.  I actually have a 24 or 16 strands braided but it is twice as thick as the original used.  Trying to make sure that I do not impair the cone movement.  Trying to salvage the original as much as I could.  If it hadn't been a scratchy cone I wouldn't have bother.  Finding the right parts is a pain.

I am expecting you to slice it to size.  :)

Seriously if it is 20 yrs ago I would.  But right now I have really bad eyesight would stay away from anything requiring eye power

Is the coil still working/not completely rubbed and broken?

Maybe just need to take out the spider and the rubber surround then try to realign and reglue
