Any good person to go to locally for restoring Garrard 401?

Yes! There are but locals not willing to pay for restoration. So best send it overseas for restoration. I basically restore Thorens TD124 Mk II.

Nice. I'm also keen to get a 301 from UK Audio grail. Where do you get your plinth from?

Looking forward to your comments after set up!

I got my plinth from Layer of Beauty, UK.

The waiting time is about 5 weeks. He is renowned for TT  plinth at reasonable price

wow, this is very good looking plinth. Exactly what I have in mind. Don't mind I ask how much is it and what arm are you going to fit in?

And are you going to plinth it yourself?

thx.

I have not decided on the arm yet. If you can afford to buy from Audiograil, then the plinth is not expensive. Go to the website and ask Russell for a quote. Cheapest finishing is £350 plus.

It beats getting a 301 direct from SME for a ridiculous USD 24k!!

Congrats bro, it looks stunning hope more Garrard user will join in to share resources.

For those DIYers, It took me a while to locate a workshop owner who is able to help me to fabricate bespoke parts out of stainless steel/wood using CNC and milling machine. Best of all he is careful handling the gear I passed it to him did an excellent job and his charges is VERY reasonable.

I have no commercial interest in this nor is related to the owner just like to share my find with XP members. His contact is :96925161/Tan Yew Chee, his workshop is in Ubi Road.

What bespoke parts are you referring to?

You've got a good tonearm Fidelity Research which is now a collector's item.

Consider upgrading to the Kokomobearing Mk3 and do all the installation in one go.
