The Proceed AMP2 is designed by Madrigal Audio Laboratories, Inc. which also builds the famous and high-end Mark Levinson equipment. The amplifier has several design features which are responsible for its outstanding performance. It has a dual mono design with each audio channel having its own dedicated power supply which includes a separate 300VA toroidal transformer each.  The AMP2 has a low power supply impedance which is a critical factor in the ultimate performance of an amplifier. When the music gets demanding, the amplifier requires much more power and the impedance level drops. Having a low power supply impedance means the amplifier will be able to access to the power it needs, when it needs it. This yields an optimal environment in which the amplifier may operate to its maximum potential. The amplifier is also equipped with XLR inputs which allows the user to take full advantage of greater immunity from noise, RFI, and EMI.

Proceed AMP2 promises power with finesse and control. The power handling capacity of the combo is quite astounding. Soundstaging, upper-end treble, lower bass and volume mark their presence with an unmistakably lively, airy feel to the music. This does a remarkable job with the different forms of music. The soundstaging is just about right, a comfortable area between in-your-face upfront and back-of-the-barn laidback. When digging deeper into the sonic qualities, the Proceeds do have the ever-so-slightest niggle. They are fast as well as musical, but the balance is slightly skewed to the speed factor.
