titactoh Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 I have been to marantzvtuner.com to subscribe for Internet radio. The vtuner website has listed marantz NA11s1 as one of the devices for internet radio subscription. I have proceeded to the stage where I have to retrieve my MAC id for input to confirm my marantz product. As only steps are provided to look for MAC ID in the following 7 devices namely : [sR7005,AV7005] [M-CR603] [NA7004] [sR5006,SR6006,NR1602] I like to know if anyone has successfully been able to look for their Marantz NA11s1 MAC id and can care to share the necessary steps towards that. Thank you.
Boxerfan88 Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 If you're referring to MAC address, you need the following pre-requisites: (a) You must know the IP address of your device (example: 192.100.200.123) (b) You must have a Windows PC/laptop connected on the same LAN network as your Marantz. Instructions: (a) Switch on device (Marantz), wait for 10-15secs for it to be ready. (b) On your Windows PC/laptop, open a CMD window. © In the CMD window, (i) PING IP_Address (example: PING 192.100.200.123) (ii) wait for PING to finish (iii) ARP -a IP_Address (example: ARP -a 192.100.200.123) You should see the MAC address under the heading "Physical Address". The format will look something like this: 00-12-ab-34-cd-56. Hope this helps.

titactoh Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 IPv4 Address Is: 00.000.000.000 I keyed in PING 00.000.000.000 Then appeared 4 pkts sent 4 pkts received None Lost Then it says ARP-a 00.000.000.000 is not recognised as an Internal or External command operable programme or batch file. There was one reply that said " This file does not have an App associated with it for performing this action, please install an App or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Setting .... Very strange
Boxerfan88 Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 IP address 0.0.0.0 is invalid. Looks like the problem is that your Marantz (a) is not configured with an IP address, or (b) did not receive an IP address from the router/DHCP service. Without a valid IP address, it wont be able to receive streamed radio... I suggest you read the manual and follow the instructions to set/configure the IP address. This assumes you know your home IP address scheme. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
titactoh Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 My IP address is taken from internet where I just ask what is My IP address and its given as 2digits 3digits 3digits and 3digits. I do not know the consequence of disclsing it here so I indicated as zeros. It was displayed as IPv4 followed by 2digits 3 digits 3digits and 3 digits. It it mention IPv6 not found. I look up my IP address from my desk top PC where I can surf the internet and not from the Marantz NA11s which I was supposed just to switch on. I need the IP first to obtain the MAC. Did I do it wrongly ?
titactoh Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 Any brother living along Bedok Reservoir Road knows how to fix it for a fee please pm me. I misplaced my Marantz NA11s1 Manual . Thank you.
Boxerfan88 Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Bro, manual is available online. Refer to pages 8,15. https://www.us.marantz.com/-/media/Files/DocumentMaster/MarantzNA/US/Model-NA-11S1-Owners-Manual.pdf 1. Make sure your Marantz is connected to your home router (page 8 ) 2. Make sure DHCP is set to ON (page 15). 3. OFF/ON your Marantz, it should get an internal IP from your home router. 4. Page 39 shows you how to check the IP address given to your Marantz. —- The IP address that I mentioned earlier refers to the IP address inside your home, not the external IP address facing the internet. Boxerfan88 Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 Thank you. Will check on connection and retry again. By the way what is DHCP ? Thank you very much. DHCP = dynamic host configuration protocol. It’s a service that runs inside your home router. It’s job is to issue an IP address to devices in your home network that ask for an IP address. It is issued from a preconfigured pool. titactoh Posted March 13, 2020 Author Posted March 13, 2020 Bro. Boxerfan, I didnt get the IP address but I somehow I managed to get the MAC address. So is this useful or do I need to go in and check for the IP address.
Boxerfan88 Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 Bro, you should go to the Marantz and check that it got a proper IP address. Follow the manual for the instructions on how to check. Refer to earlier post. How do you know if the Marantz got a proper IP address? 1. Find out your desktop/laptop's IP address. a. In a CMD/DOS window, type ipconfig b. You will see something like this: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.50.88 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.50.254 c. In the above example, your desktop PC's IP address is 192.168.50.88 2. Now go to your Marantz, and check for the IP address. (page 39) It should show something like this: 192.168.50.XXX where XXX will be different from your desktop PC. If this is what you see, that means your Marantz managed to get the IP address successfully from your home router, and it should be able to connect to services on the internet. 3. You can test and double confirm by using your desktop PC to connect to your Marantz. On the desktop PC web browser, type: http://192.168.50.XXX/ where XXX is what you obtained from step 2. You should now be able to see the web page from your Marantz, and control the device. You can now try configuring and playing from the online streaming services. Hope this helps...
titactoh Posted March 13, 2020 Author Posted March 13, 2020 Ok will go and check IP address from page 39 guide of Manual. Thank you.

This means your Marantz is connected to your home network and working properly. Now for the bad news, your Marantz rely on vtuner for internet radio. vtuner used to be free, and now vtuner want to charge $3/year. Therefore your internet radio will not work unless you pay up. Just to share, my Yamaha AVR also uses vtuner, and I just tested my Yamaha AVR NetRadio, it no longer works. I can still login to my vtuner account, see my bookmarks, but it keeps prompting to pay up. My Yamaha AVR can no longer see my bookmarked stations. Some research showed that Yamaha abandoned vtuner in Mar 2019, and switch to airable radio; unfortunately Yamaha did not migrate my older model to the new internet tuner service. I am also out of luck with internet radio. I did not know about this until I did research while trying to help you out.

Thank you. https://marantz.vtuner.com/setupapp/marantz/asp/AuthLogin/DetectDeviceMob.asp?noreg=y&lngy=eng Bro, I cannot help you any further because I have never done the transaction before. Even if you pay, there is no guarantee it’ll work. In any case, US$3 is a small amount to write off; however the risk of your credit card number & cvv on the website is a risk you need to monitor.
