Hi all, I have a Mac integrated amp from USA 110 that use a fuse rating at 10A 250V.

Now that the amp had been moded to 230V, what’s the fuse rating I should use?

Remain same at 10A 250V or 5A 250V ?

Since watts/volts = amperage draw and assuming watts is constant.

1000w = 10A x 110

So for 230v the amperage would be 1000w/230 = 4.35A

So max A is 4.35 before fuse cut off. Not sure if above method is correct.

Numbers all correct at high level.. Replace W by 'VA', will be perfect.

Some may say, Hay 60hz has higher power than 5phz. Nah, dun worry as you typically have to leave x3 allowance so does not matter.

Provision for the inrush during the start up, go with a slow blow at a lower ampere rating, that should be fine.

For audiophile fuses such as synergistic research, SR advises to move up a value to account for sensitive start up.

Example if stock fuse is 5A, suggests to get 6.3A.

It depends where this fuse is located.

If it is before the transformer, then it should 5 Amp.  If it is after the transformer, then it should remain the same rating at 10 Amp.
