malsound Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 I start this poll because I think no one have ever ask this question about audiophile before and in no way is trying to make fun of the situation or any group of people.
Chowbotak Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 I have stayed indoors without leaving the house for up to 4 weeks. Go out only for check ups. Not a big deal for me as I have plenty of music and movies to play and watch
Guest Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 I have stayed indoors without leaving the house for up to 4 weeks. Go out only for check ups. Not a big deal for me as I have plenty of music and movies to play and watch Haha that sounds exactly like me. With the computer, Internet and hifi I can stay home for months. I even ordered all my groceries online at one point. Only now I have a dog so everyday I need to leave the house to walk him.
malsound Posted February 1, 2020 Author Posted February 1, 2020 There is Pro and con in all this. One of the advantages is you can really run in your equipment. I have know of some weekend audiophile that own equipment for years and they aren't even fully run in yet. Might be even exciting to buy your first online purchase equipment and hear how the run in unfold in real time.
malsound Posted April 3, 2020 Author Posted April 3, 2020 Expecting more bad hifi days since every MFS stay at home watch TV, online games, ht, hifi for the coming months.
wizardofoz Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 I missed this poll...I would have been a top option...I work from home as does the mrs so not much change for us really...loads to listen and watch too.

blue_starfish Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 Bros, how do you decide which music in your collection to play at a session? Now that we are in stay at home mode, and have time to go through our respective collections. Interested to hear from bros with huge music collection like CBT, silencer13 and ATx2. For me at each session I will either pick a band and related acts or genre . I will pull out their LP/CD before session starts. For example last night I chose CSNY. Pulled out CSNY, Graham Nash solo, Neil Young solo and spent 3 hours listening to my satisfaction. Other nights I may do and easy listening theme like Anne Murray, Carpenters and Barry Manilow.
wizardofoz Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 Sadly my listening room got converted to the office and now my wife and I share that daily for working...well we always worked from home many years now, but I can't just play on the full setup what I want now with her on calls etc more than me so I have to use cans now which is ok but mist are open back planars so if I have her on the phone (like now) I would be wanting to use IEM's or my custom IEM's for total isolation. Fortunately we have a good overlap of musical preference so having something playing while not on calls isn't normally an issue.
David Cheah Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Yes and no, depends on the family whether how big or how small. Best is like me , alone so can blast my system when I like it. But if you have a big family especially those with kids or babies then too bad, even if you have a top tier system. However if you very rich living in a bungalow with dedicated music room then it's another story......
lkypeter Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Most audiophiles have a certain hermit tendency that makes them literally more at home with current situation. For those without dedicated listening room, consider playing at tolerable volume as background music of resort of head-fi. Finally have time to re-listen my collection of classical music.
