Dear Friends,

A friend wants recommendations for new 2 x 15 inch identical sealed subs mainly for Movies. That is 70 percent movies and 30 percent music.

The room is 3.5m x 5 m.

Understand that difficult to find 15 inch subs which perform well in both lows and mid bass. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Grateful if can give some recommendations and if vendors name/ contact so can arrange for auditions.

Thanks

Ajit

few questions to help us help him.

1) what is the max dimensions size he can accommodate in both placements of sub?

2) if he has only 1 choice, between better midbass and better lowbass, which one does he like more?

3) any max budget?

Won't go wrong with mainstream brands like SVS, PSA or Rythmik. You can contact KEC for SVS, Win for PSA and Peng for Rythmik.

Not much 15" choices. Depends on his budget too.

For 15" seal

can consider https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=35141

+shipping already near to 3K.

For Ported, will be still King of 15" - Rythmik FV15HP

Understand you may prefer midbass over low. It be useful to note that many 15" subs have weak mid bass thump, and much stronger on low bass rumble.

Understand u can take 21" cube physical size.

Based on the above, some alternatives can be:

1) dual JL e112 - gives both good mid bass thump; and sufficient low rumble if u are not a deep rumble fanatic

2) dual rythmik f18 - Fits your 21" cubic size although you asked for 15". I have not experienced them personally b4, but I heard it does very well in both midbass thump and low bass rumble departments.  Maybe fellow f18 users can chime in to comment on how's the mid bass thump tactile ?

Greetings everyone.

This thread was started by kingajit for me.

Thanks everyone for those who responded.

I wanted to updated everyone that i went with svs pb3000.

I already had one pb3000, so before going dual, wanted to see, if i can find better alternative at similar price. I had a window of one month to finalise as my family had went to India for vacation.

After many demos, recommendations, readings, finally went ahead and got one more pb3000.

Not getting a good offer on my existing pb3000 and lack of time was also a part of my decision.

Got it and have already set it up and calibrated.

Working well for both movies and music, as per my liking.

Bro desray thread on house curve using audyssey app was an icing on cake.

Now it has satisfactory mid bass punch and low end grunt. Not as low as bro win's and roni's setup (they are leagues ahead), but enough to enjoy the movies.

If anyone is interested for a short demo on dual pb3000 setup, are welcome to drop by at my place.

My wife is not aware of this change. Ha ha...it was a secret mission. Hopefully she will cool down after few demos...

Thanks bro kennyluck2000.

SVS pb3000 is 13". :)

SVS 13" driver built look solid with 800watt rms. Peak 2500watt. You are good...  ;)

Also with the app you can control the sub with your tablet or handphone.. that's cool.. 8)

If you will to upgrade again the PB4000 & PB-16 Ultra is the way to go... ;D but will cost you a lot more... ;D ;D ;D
