robs Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 (edited) NOW SOLD - many thanks James - happy listening and great meeting you! $25 donation to SNA on it's way! LINN LK1 Pre Amplifier + Separate DIRAK Power Supply (for LK1) + LK2 Power Amp. Complete with all leads (IEC power leads x 2, Dirak to LK1 power supply lead, XLR pre to power signal leads x 2, original Linn twin phono input leads x 2, Linn quad phono (for tape input/outputs) input lead x 1, original instruction booklet, original boxes for DIRAK & LK2, but no box for the LK1. There is NO remote control for the LK1, but it is controllable by a remote – you will need a programmable remote control. Logitech do them cheaply (about $20 and up) and the LK1 is shown in their database here: http://myremotesetup.com/EasyZapper/New/Main.asp?WebProcessAction=Start&ReturnUrl=%2FEasyZapper%2F.%2FNew%2FProcSpice%2Flanding.asp&ClassId=PrSpice.ProcSpice&RelativePath=ProcSpice%2F * Location: Melbourne (Blackburn South). Much prefer local pickup but will post at cost if no local interest. * Item condition description: I bought these used in the UK about 10 years ago and used them continuously since – I’ve upgraded so they need to go. Serial numbers: LK1 – 102564 (which I think dates it to 1986) Dirak – 001438 (the Dirak was introduced late 1990, needing dealer mods to the LK1 to fit) LK2 – 204935 (which I think dates it to 1988) Cosmetically, all are good – no major scratches, dents etc, just some very minor blemishes. They are all working as they should & sound great. If collecting, can be connected up & heard when you pick up. The LK1 needs a new back up/memory battery (i.e. the memory settings are not stored/kept when you power off – you can get these from RS etc, but it is a solder job to fit it). It has no remote, but you can use a programmable remote with it. Has had the (reversible) ‘gain mod’ to reduce volume at lower listening levels. Has also had a couple of transistors replaced on the phono stages. The phonostage (MC & MM) is meant to be very good, and the design upon which the later Linto phonostage was based. The LK2 is the later LK2-75 version. Originally the LK2 was 60W, then upgraded to 75W (this version), then finally 80W, which was labelled LK280. The 4 main power supply caps were replaced about 8 years ago (thought this was a good idea, based on Naim’s servicing of their amps, but didn’t make any noticeable difference to the sound that I could make out!) * Price and price conditions: $750 for the lot. Don’t want to split. Much prefer collection from Blackburn South, Melbourne. $25 donation to SNA upon sale. No warranty/returns offered. (But I do have a pdf copy of the Linn service manuals, schematics, product history etc which I will burn on a CD and supply also.. just in case!). * Reason for selling: Upgraded and reducing the number of boxes (will have a few more bits and pieces to follow!). * Payment Methods: Cash – Pickup. * Pictures: Please pm if you would like more photos.
