ITEM: DENON TU-235RD TUNER

CONDITION: SEE BELOW

REASON FOR SELLING: SURPLUS

PICS: BELOW

PRICE: $50

ADDITIONAL INFO:

I bought this with some other DENON gear, I really just wanted the integrated amp that was in the lot.   This tuner is the same as the Denon TU260L mk2 which is a highly rated tuner which some say is the best at the price and a bit of a giant killer.  There's a bit of a review of this on FM TUNER INFO site.

I have a TU260L which I compared with this TU-235, sounded exactly the same with the same reception sensitivity and noise rejection.   The insides looked to be much the same as well.  Physically it's in terrific condition with just the display being a little down on brightness.

This tuner's display isn't as bright as mine although I probably wouldn't noticed unless I had one on top of the other.  It looks like the display is at about 60 percent brightness to mine.   I don't know if it's a fault or just the way they are, probably a little down on brightness but no biggie as it's still easily read and doesn't effect performance of the tuner.

I compared my 260 to a Cambridge DAB tuner a while ago, no contest, the analogue tuner was sooooo much better, like vinyl versus digital (LOL).

If you want a great performing tuner at a pretty good price this might fit the bill.   I can post this around Australia.   I have a Denon system remote which has preset up and down buttons for the tuner so if you have a learning remote I can teach your remote these basic codes.

I think the street price for one of these second hand is around a hundred but I'm wanting to move this along and have taken into account the display.

Oh, and it comes with the FM and AM antennas too.

Tuners are fun but to be honest I haven't used my Denon 260 in an age.  It's a really nice tuner for the money.   I note that the current model is 'only' $400, probably worht every cent considering people pay big dollars for the 70's classics like the Kenwoods, Marantz and Sansuis.
