Hi all.  I'm after an Audiolab 8200CDQ.  Open to other suggestions but require a CD/DAC/Analogue preamp in one unit.  Not many other options out there as far as I know...  Would consider Naim Uniti 2 but don't really need the power amp section...

Cheers

There's an ex-demo Quad CDP2 on EBay sitting on $500 at the moment. It's a CD player, dac and pre-amp but has no analogue inputs, just digital. Retails for over $2k normally. Very nice sounding kit and a great price if it can be had at the current level.

Thanks Hensa, that's well within my price range, but I do need something with analogue inputs as well as I'll be running a TT and tuner through it.  The outputs will go directly to a pair of powered Yamaha HS80m monitors.

Didn't get a single bid, that Quad.  I'd have snapped it up if it had analogue inputs....

I may be forced to go brand new as my criteria are quite specific, however I'd much rather go s/h of course.  The Audiolab and Naim are the only things that combine CD/DAC/Pre/analogue inputs in one unit that I'm aware of.....There are a couple of Audioaero and Ayon units but they only have one Toslink input.

I'd certainly be interested if anyone is selling  2 quality separate components that would do the same job as the Audiolab 8200CDQ or Naim Uniti2....

It sure does.  Thanks!  Anyone selling one? haha.  Looks like it's come down to it or the Audiolab.  Though the Naim's not out of the question either.  All comes down to what comes up!

Cheers.

Phew...having difficulty finding either on the s/h market here or in the UK.

WTB Audiolab 8200CDQ or Musical Fidelity CD Pre 24.   That is: cd transport/dac/analogue pre in one unit.   No Naims....too expensive.

Cheers

Haha, yeah the seller messaged me.  I just bought a brand new one from the UK yesterday!  Talk about bad timing!  Still, got a nice deal on it.

Thanks for the heads up though
