Mind blowing performance. Can be driven by tube or SS. I have used them with various amps, incl ME1500, Rogue Audio 180's, Harmon Citation XX. Always stunning. Killer bass down to 24Hz in-room. Amazing imaging with the narrow front baffle.

These are in immaculate condition. 2 Owners from new. Complete with all packaging, manuals and tools. Can be shipped anywhere. One tiny mark on the finish that can only be seen close up. Reluctant sale, but need the $$.

Sorry about the pics quality - flash died.

Acoustic Energy AE3 Mk II - the flagship floorstanding loudspeaker that fuses high technology acoustics with retro aesthetics. In close relation to the famous AE1 Mk3 reference monitor speaker. Maintaining the character, transparency and dynamics of the AE1, the AE3 offers increased power handling and bass.

The cabinet is dived into two sections, each individually vented and tuned. The upper section houses the 32mm HF unit from the AE1 and a bespoke 130mm mid range unit using an alloy cone 33% thinner than the AE1s, producing rich tonal qualities with increased efficiency. This cabinet section is also damped using 5mm thick steel plates on the internal walls and a "Cross Member" which tensions the cabinet to reduce mechanical resonance.

The lower enclosure is heavily braced both horizontally and vertically and features dual vents to handle the increased air pressures this system produces, which are dual flared to minimise airflow distortion. Two 165mm alloy cone LF units are mounted to the sidewalls of the lower section and protected by a unique grille arrangement.

The crossover uses audiophile quality components on separate boards to minimise inductor interaction - one in the upper section for the MF/ HF frequencies and one in the lower section for the LF frequencies. A single set of WBT gold plated binding posts is used for the connectors. Finished in a very high quality and stylish piano black finish, these speakers will be the focal point of any listening room. Overall an unbelievable product that will add to any system.

These are seriously good, as the original circa 90's large stand mount AE3 rrp $7k was great speaker and were Audio Connection's most talked about speaker and Joe R. (Audio Connecton) he still get's 3k for them s/h now.

But these are the new much improved floor mount version AE3 totaly different and much much better, they had an RRP of some $17k on them, I've heard them and they image so good that the only box speaker I know of that matches them in this department the are the $$$$$ Audio Physic's top models, of old. But these new AE3's go down further and tighter and have better dynamics more extention on top, and have a very good mid range.
