Guest yamaha_man Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) Well I need a lamp for my turntable. I'm sure there is a few gents here with impeccable taste who can help me out. There is no budget but would like to keep it in the 3 figure range, pif something special was suggested that was 4 figures I would certainly consider it. Have included tt pics to help. Look forward to your recommendations. Cheers. Edited December 29, 2012 by yamaha_man

soundfan Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 I purchased mine as an afterthought when strolling through a St Vinnies store. Nothing special needed IMO. 1
Guest yamaha_man Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Nice, this also caught my eye. http://www.princess-trade.com.au/cart/replica-antonio-citterio-flos-kelvin-t-table-lamp.html?utm_source=myshopping&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Home+Accents&utm_term=Replica+Antonio+Citterio+Flos+KELVIN+T+Table+Lamp
Guest yamaha_man Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Some nice lamps here. Wonder if there is anywhere in Melbourne where I can view this or a similar range. http://royaldesign.com/au/viewitem.aspx?ID=61463
nevillekapadia Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 I got a battery operated 19-20 LED one with a floor stand mount about 1.2m tall. I did not want any transformers from the lamp in the system AC circuit. Like you I was willing to spend for a nice one. Eventually got this by fluke from ALDI for a paltry $20. Havent changed the battery for over a year. (4 x AA). Nice white light, so picks up the reflection of dirt easily. if of any interest let me know if you want to see a pic of it. 1
hugo_wilco Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Beacon lighting. I bought a $30 white lamp that softly clamps on my rack shelf. Looks great does the job.
strony Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) This is what I use: $30 at Ikea I like the LED lamps because although a very bare cool light you can easily see record imperfections. I also like this one: $70 at ikea. Edited December 29, 2012 by Hoppy 1
GregWormald Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 My tt light is on a track on the ceiling. Greg

Young Skywalker Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Like this one also! Any idea of price or stockist? Contact Artemide on (03) 9349 3310. They have an office located in Carlton, Victoria. Price for the dimmable LED version is around $1200 (last time I enquired) but significantly less for incandescent versions. Cheaper copies are available but I see the real thing as a long term investment in a piece of functional design/industrial art.
Guest guru Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) I bought mine for $40 at lawsons auctions in August. And yes, it is the genuine article. Edited December 29, 2012 by guru

qwerter Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Oh for ****'s sake...$1200 for a freck'n lamp for your turntable... It will significantly improve the sound, because of the cryogenically treated light bulb. 1
