Graham Andrew Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) Sold: Quasimodo integrated amplifier. This amplifier is hand-built by Richard Mcdonald and delivers a lovely sweet very valve like sound. It is 45 watts into 8 ohm and around 65 into 4 ohm. To describe the amplifier, I can only tell you what I have heard as I don't have the reviewer's gift for words. I have owned a Unison Research Unico, Gryphon Tabu and a Weston Topaz which was superb. The reason I come back to this amplifier is that it delivers the valve sound, in a very clear and detailed way, so I seem to get the best of both worlds. I am selling to simply upgrade to a more powerful Quasimodo amplifier. * Location Canberra * Item condition description As new 9/10 * Price and price conditions $480 + postage * Reason for selling Upgrade * Payment Methods: Paypal + 3%, Cash - Pickup * Extra Info: Amplifier has 4 inputs and 3 way binding posts for one pair of speakers it is approximately 3 years old. Apologies for the photos, apparently not only am I no good at writing I am not a photographer either. {can't bowl, can't catch. can't bat} Edited December 23, 2012 by Graham Andrew
ronsound Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Good Luck with the sale. Great amps from Richard. I have recently brought a "Quasimodo" 40w with active Pre. Have it in my HT setup, driving my L & R. Great bass, detailed, smooth highs and very tube-like midrange.
Graham Andrew Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 I agree with everything you said about them, a little hidden gem. The amp is now sold.
Phantom Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 ZOMG ! Talk about quick. Well done to buyer and seller.
