Hi guys.

I did a check on the back Panel and it doesn't have a fuse there. Is it somewhere else? How should I get this checked?

Pls help. What should I do?

Bro, can u describe the problem more clearly so that we can better help u.

Does your sub has auto on off function?

Is the led light (I assume there is) now red when it's off; or, totally no light?

It should have a fuse.

i think the amp plate is spoil. Is your amp plate still under of warranty? If yes, you send back to Tom for repair.

PSA does has a upgrade subwoofer amp for VX15 and my friends are very happy over this amp.

If it is no longer under warranty. I can recommend a reliable technician for you and his charges are very reasonable and fast

PM to me if you need help

Tom V is very prompt in his email reply.

If it is still under warranty, give him a shout. If not, either go local or email PSA for solutions.

Hi guys

Very much thanks for your reply.

Background story was this subwoofer was working fine abot 6  months back. Until I decided to take it off the socket to replace with another device. So my amp was running without subwoofer, since it's anyway just watching tv

So Over the past 6 months sun wasn't on at all. And I just plugged it into power today to listen to some music.

Upon turning on, the pop sound was heard and I guessed was the fused blown. This my earlier message asking for her.

Subsequently, I managed to find the blown fuse and replaced it with a new one.

Upon turning main socket  power on, the subwoofer switch was on the off mode.

I switched it to auto and no green lights on. I reckon because my amplifier isn't on to trigger it to on.

So I switched it again to the On side on the sub

Green light comes on but I hear a pop sound. Fuse blown again

I bought another spare fuse and went through same steps. Still same result- blown fuse

I would have had it for 4 years now. Don't think warranty for so long

My guess is could the 6 months period of non usage cause some circuit damage in the sub? Otherwise I can't think of anything that could cause it.

Power sound audio warranty should be 5 years , but have to send the electronic back to them and wait for their replacement ( at the cost of user ) .

If you need any help to check your VX15 let me know , you can text me @ 96387418

Your amp is spoilt, i have the similar situation before. The waiting time for the repairing of your amp about 5 weeks.

You can also buy a new upgraded amp for your sub from Power Sound Audio and Tom will give a five years warranty

If you need a technician to fix it up wthin a week, let me know

thanks for the offer Kelvin.

let me check the warranty first. if not guess your option is the next only choice.

based on your experience, do i have to bring the woofer down, or its repair on the spot?

Sounded it is latent failure of PSA subwoofer....  R&D issue  :-[

Usually I will 'drain' my subs before switch it OFF from main power socket (actually I was advised by product expert of my subs

and don't put it on stand by mode).

I always 'warm up' my electronic gadgets (such as XBOX, NDS, PSP, laptop, etc) when they are not in use quite often

because Singapore air is so humid (my RH meter showed 74% yesterday evening).

Consider to use dehumidifier in your hifi room in order to prevent rush grow in the mechanical parts.

;D

Take few photos or short video clip then attached to your email to PSA asking for replacement amp plate since it is still under warranty.

If possible to get their 'improve' version otherwise you will face the same issue again.

Just the amp plate, usually just the switching power circuit failured, no need worry too much. The service duration depend on the technician availability, may be few days to few weeks, just dun need hope can get it done on the spot. Gd luck.

Thanks guys for your help

I will need to read up and perhaps find some videos on which is he amp plate

White six: you mentioned warm up the sub. What do you mean?

Does it mean you turn is on but don't play any music ?

Goto the back of your sub, you should see your amp plate which has a POWER X label , you need to slowly unscrew 12 screws

Noted thanks bro. I managed to find the receipt

It's less than 4 year old

Also managed to reach out to Peng. Peng, thanks for being ever so helpful and giving me advice.

Peng shared that The shipping fee of the original parts from US may be about SGD$380 which I feel may be a stumbling block versus the local technician which may offer cheaper repair, but possibility at the cost of voiding warranty and using inferior or non original parts.

Guess I will Let Peng take a look and decide later

The other option is to top up for a new sub (with a supposed better amp plate) and trading in my xv15 but at what cost too? Can anyone advice?

That's the trade off we have to bear for brands with no local warranty/ agents

Few questions that would help shape your decision:

1) Are you still keen to go with brands without local agent/warranty moving fwd?

2) How much is the max amount u willing to pay to fix/ repair the issue as compared to buy another used/new sub?

Posted

The shipping fee is should be less than $150 and definitely not $380. You can send the amp back via Speedpost and get EZYBUY ship to you back to Singapore.

My amp is 4kg and it costs S$170 to and fro and your amp should be cheaper as it is around 2.3kg.

Honestly still prefer international brands. Risk is no local agent

I didn't set a budget for this, since it's so unexpected

So hopefully got a cheap and good solution. ( sorry I'm true blue Singaporean)

Looks like amp issue, same as mine. Last time sifu Peng checked my amp and for some reason it was tested fine by him. After I got home, worked 1 or 2 times and then its not working again. So no choice, had to order replacement. Instead of 1:1 replacement, I opted for ICE upgrade. Costs me 350 for the amp and 90 for shipping through borderlinx (in USD). Bro Yubaba is correct, if you upgrade PSA will provide 5 more years of warranty (for the amp only). If you prefer 1:1 replacement, there is no extended warranty just pay the international shipping. Hope this helps.

Btw, I'm using XS30.
