bebop Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Wow. That's an awesome get. I was just listening to the XRCD today for the first time. I really enjoyed it.
hired goon Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Musically Jazz At The Pawnshop bores me, but I recognize that it's a highly-regarded recording, and picking it up for $2 is a steal. Nice score. --Geoff 1

Check posts 1771 and 1772. http://www.stereo.ne.../page__st__1755 Good score. I've read about that album but it's not my cup of tea................although, at two bucks, I would have snapped it up!

Grimmie Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 (edited) Was that from the record fair Wol, if so great buy. My best buy from a dozen or so today was the 25th anniversary box set Ninja Tune compilation. 6 discs, brand new from my favorite label and $30. OK not 2-bucks but still a good one. By the way Prana, although I don't know what music you are into it's hard for me to believe that you couldn't find some branch of jazz that didn't press some of your buttons. There is almost no limit to the variations of the genre. Edited November 11, 2012 by Grimmie
tuyen Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Nice stuff Wol! I dropped by at 3 when they were starting to close up ('twas the earliest I could make it) and couldn't find any nice bargains like that. Most of the ones I was interested in were $15-30. you snooze you lose I guess ??
Demondes Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 (edited) $1 in a Sydney Vinnies Store for a mint version of Kate Bush 50 words for Snow (2 LP). It just was sitting there lonely amongst the usual worn out suspects e.g. Barbara Streisand, Richard Claydermann, and Fiddler on the Roof etc I am sure if you have checked a Vinnies store you get the mental picture Edited November 11, 2012 by Demondes
hired goon Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 $1 in a Sydney Vinnies Store for a mint version of Kate Bush 50 words for Snow (2 LP). That's not bad. My best vinyl buy was a couple of sealed Patricia Barber MoFi 45 rpm boxes for $2 each. They sell for a lazy couple of hundred dollars each on ebay. Gave one away, still got the other one. --Geoff
